My daughter will be joining the preschool in a couple of weeks. My son attended just over a year ago. I believe there are still a few places left for September start at the nursery. Was there something specific that you wanted to know as I may be able to answer your questions. As the other replies have suggested there is a FB page and website but your best bet is to go in and have a look around they reopen on the 9th Sept. Adelle

Explaining to a 4 year old about an operation
NannyAdelle replied to NannyAdelle's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Thanks Grotty. The operation is next weds. So we don't have too much time to play with. I was planning to wait until after the weekend to mention it but going by your advice perhaps I will start the conversation this evening. And this is why the ED forum is brilliant. Helpful advice when needed -
Explaining to a 4 year old about an operation
NannyAdelle replied to NannyAdelle's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Thanks pickle. That's exactly what I was worried about doing. Give him a "child friendly" version that then gives him a fear eg butterflies. You are right He does know how his tonsils are always making him feel ill. So I will start with that and see what questions he has and go from there. Thanks for the tips. It's I'm very nervous. I know it's a common procedure but you would rather go through it instead of them wouldn't you x -

If you could re-train, what would it be in?
NannyAdelle replied to Ole's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I think having children makes you reaseess your life/work balance. I worked in sales before my first child. I now work as a nanny. I also run a mobile clothes boutique in the evenings which helps to fullfil my need for adult interaction. I sometimes think about retrainig in the future; teacher, midwife, health visitor are all occupations I have researched. Its interesting to see other parents have similar thoughts about retraining/choosing a new career path. -
Car Door Kicked In.... Barry Road
NannyAdelle replied to trentk69's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I live on Barry road and have seen drunk people walking down the road pulling off the wing mirrors. And on Christmas morning 2012 I was waiting in the car passenger side with our 2 children in the back and a drunk man walking along with a couple of mates. Fell towards my car. Stopped. And smashed my wing mirror off with his elbow! Called police. Chased the man down the road (in car so I knew where he went) He was from the place at the end of Barry road. Asylum seeker. He was arrested. Pleaded guilty. Receievd a letter from the police to confirm he pleaded guilty and was charged. But we were never given compensation to fix our wing mirror. Such a pointless crime. I just don't get it. And quite scary being sat in the car with my children while this happened. -
It's just hit me like a brick wall. I am going to have to pick 6 schools to apply for my son to start sept 2014. We live on Barry road - just had a quick look at the admissions brochures for Southwark, Lambeth and lewisham and am feeling very worried about what school we will be offered as looking on the chart we are too far from all them. Help me! Where do I even start? I need to pick 6 schools but where do children on Barry road (Goodrich road junction) tend to get accepted? Adelle

Hello Ed parents, My Son will be starting at Goodrich this sept for an afternoon nursery session. If any of you have children starting in September and would like to meet up in park at some point over summer. Please pm me to arrange. I've seen parents from other nurseries have suggested the same and I thought it would be nice to way to ease the transition into nursery. Adelle & Oliver :-)

Anyone on the 'fast' diet?
NannyAdelle replied to supergolden88's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Second fast day tomorrow... It's harder than I thought as I have done other diets before where you don't eat at all eg lemonade detox. I think I'm gonna try to not eat until later in the day approach as I made the mistake of eating fruit for breakfast on my first fast day and was then hungry most of the day -

NannyAdelle replied to NannyAdelle's topic in The Family Room Discussion
okay ladies I am sorry but I will have to get back in touch in a couple of weeks. My son has just got over chicken pox and I somehow thought that my daughter had managed not to catch it. That was until this morning. Just had it confirmed at the GP's so we will be hibernating for a little bit longer. Hope you all have fun at the park/1 o'clock club and we will join you all soon.. Hello everyone. Sorry I thought I had followed this thread but it didn't notify me that others had commented. The park is a good idea. If the weather is too miserable the 1 o'clock club is also a good shout. (It opens next week tues am, thurs pm and fri am) Shall we book a day for next week? -

Hi Claire I am on Barry Rd but I drive so as long as you are fairly local it will be fine. -
hello Mums or East Dulwich. I am a stay at home mum half the time and work as a nanny mon-weds. i have two children of my own a boy aged 3 and a girl 15 months. Whilst I love making lots of nanny friends and meeting up with the children that they look after I would also like to meet up on play dates with some local stay at home mums. If you have children of a similar age to me or one of either age and would like to arrange some play dates please get in touch as I have recently realised that I would like my children to form more lasting friendships than we are able to with other nanny children. Adelle x

Amott road preschool -
Hello all, I will be looking after a 4 year old boy and his 1 year old sister from end of August. I wanted to know if you could recommend any local groups in the morning that are suitable for both ages. Or if there are any mums/ nannies in the area with children of a similar age who would like to arrange playmates. Thanks Adelle
