Hoping to draw on people's experience. Headed to Beckenham spa yesterday for one of the baby pool swim sessions with my 16 month old. Pool closed when we got there so we took him in the main pool. He was absolutely fine so happily my plan is to use 'big' pools (or learner) pools but not restrict myself to the times of the hydrotherapy pools. My experience at Crystal Palace rd fusion are that it's quite cold (swam a lot there when pregnant). Can anyone shed any light on the temp of other pools around? Doesn't have to be warm, just bearable for skinny toddler. Thank you

Baby/Toddler activities during summer holidays
petra_29 posted a topic in The Family Room Discussion
Hello, Apologies if this question has been posed before. I'm looking for inspiration of how to keep busy with my 14/15 month old during the summer holidays (I'm a teacher with term-time only childcare). Aside from playing in the garden/park, swimming, play dates, I'm really wondering if there are any play schemes/play groups that run over the summer so that my little boy can continue to play with other children. Thanks in advance. -
Was this it? Though not sure the information is still relevant http://datacollator.blogspot.co.uk/2013/10/primary-schools-around-east-dulwich.html

Mummy & daughter lunch around Cadogan Hall
petra_29 replied to nunheadmum's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Maybe here: http://www.thebotanistonsloanesquare.com Right by Cadogan Hall. I enjoy going with my dad before a concert at The Albert Hall (I am a bit older than 7 though). Pre-theatre menu might suit your needs? -
Thank you. Sounds like I'm not too far off with my understanding. So, next question...are there educational benefits to sending your preschooler to a nursery attached to a primary school rather than sending them to (or keeping them in) a private nursery?

Hello - really hoping someone can help me understand local state nurseries. I'm a way off but would like to get my head around how it all works. I'm assuming there's less of a catchment issue than at the same school for a reception start? But is there any guarantee that your child would have a place at that school if you sent them to the nursery. If, for instance, I sent my son to Heber nursery, might I then find he didn't get a place there for reception onwards and would have to go to whichever school he did get a place at. Is my understand pretty much correct or am I totally misunderstanding the system. Thanks

Is it on this week (half term)? Thanks

I've spent this week doing lots of nanny research (as in trying to find one). They seem to charge ?8-?12 an hour (which as their employer you will need to pay Employers NI on). There seem to be lots of nannies out there willing to work part time/mornings/afternoons/odd days. You will definitely be able to find one for three days. Try posting an ad on the EDF and also childcare.co.uk. Hope that helps, good luck

Anyone completed loft conversion and willing to let us view??
petra_29 replied to missmack1981's topic in The Lounge
Jumping on the back of missmack's post, we're also looking to do a loft conversion and were hoping to be able to snoop round some locally (we're SE22) and get some recommendations for architects. Can anyone help with suggestions? And/or be willing to allow us to traipse through their house. Many thanks in advance, Anna -
There's one at Push studios on a saturday morning. http://pushstudios.co.uk/en/2014-timetable/ Saturday mornings. I have't been to the pre-natal pilates but have done several pilates classes here and would highly recommend. Good luck

Hello all, Really enjoyed this morning/afternoon. Definitely up for meeting up soon. One evening in the next couple of weeks or the weekend of 26/27th?? As I mentioned, I'd be happy to get a whatsapp group together - might be an easier way to stay in touch. If you're interested, message me your number and I'll sort it. Obviously we'll still use EDF as well. Anna x
