  1. Is 12 the oldest you will take? My daughter is 14 and used to love football- there seems to be very little for girls in terms of teams once they hit 13!
  2. Yes. Something that families can do together or at least at the same time, please! There is at least 2 of us that want to do it. http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?29,1898255,1898482#msg-1898482
  3. Lewisham Community Sports and Dog Kennel Hill Adventure Playground do holiday clubs for up to 14 years (I think DKHAP is older too), and it isn't all about sports! I am a single full time working parent who quite often gets collared at 5.30 for a quick chat and as I have just accepted a promotion I feel obliged to listen. I used to have a third year uni student who would meet my daughter off the bus or at the house after school and basically just hang out, but I haven't been able to find one this year. I don't know many of the other parents, as I have always worked full time and never been at the school gate so asking if my daughter can hang out at theirs isn't possible. Interested to hear other parents experiences too!
  4. I really like the Ironmonger row baths, it's 27 quid for a 3 hour spa session where you can use all the facilities including the pool. You can book massages and beauty treatments too, but I like to just relax in the rooms.
  5. Me and my daughter (13) have just joined the east dulwich leisure centre, they have an 11-15 year old membership option where they can use the gym after having an induction. I did also go to yogarise in Peckham's Bussey building with her. The best session is one of the beginners ones on a weekend. I spent ages trying to find stuff for me and my daughter to do, swimming, cycling, roller skating and skateboarding have all been tried to get both of us moving! I really wish there was more for families rather than separating us all out.
  6. I have been looking for something like this for nearly 4 years, the only thing I have found is Dog Kennel Hill Adventure Playground, and Peckham Rye Adventure Playground, although I am not sure of the open hours for either. http://www.dkhap.org.uk/about-us.php I had an idea of trying to set something up, so if anyone is interested and has a venue let me know!!
  7. Poppet, that might be a good option, I will look into peel away and see if it would work for the bed- thank you!
  8. It's in too bad condition, very lumpy and chipped. Which was great for the 'shabby chic' phase, but it just looks shabby now!
  9. Hi, I am looking for a company to strip the paint off of a cast iron/ metal bed, if anyone has any recommendations or knows where I can get this done? I would also like to have the freshly stripped bed resprayed, if you have recommendations for that too, please! Thanks all
  10. Crystal Palace Sports Centre does athletics on a Saturday morning and an evening a week. They have a wide range of age groups. My daughter enjoyed it when she was in years, 3 to 4. http://www.better.org.uk/facilities-and-activities/lessons-and-courses/athletics-lessons
  11. Thanks Beaky, this looks great, and drop in is perfect to. It says from age 5, are there girls around the 12 age mark?
  12. Renata, Thank you so much, weeks of googling haven't given me this much information! We're the East Dulwich side of the Rye, but close to the school so these all look like good options to get started on. Many thanks Zoe
  13. Hi EDF people, My daughter and I are new to the area having moved from Sydenham 2 months ago after she got placed in the Harris Girls school. We have only moved 2 miles but it feels like a very long way from her friends and the places we know, and as she is the only girl from her primary school at the new secondary, she is finding it hard to settle in. I wondered if any of you lovely people could point us in the direction of any activities or clubs that are good for meeting local people and other girls, I work full time so unfortunately evenings and weekends are the only time I can get out and about. My daughter used to play football for her school team in primary school but we are having trouble finding a girls team near by, and there's the usual pre-teen apathy starting to set in. So if there are any clubs, groups or classes she can get involved in either after school or at weekends (not necessarily football based!) we would love to hear about them. I like to cycle and I have signed up at yogarise in peckham, but you don't really get to chat during a yoga class! We look forward to hearing any suggestions! Thanks Zoe
  14. I am looking for a cleaner for my 2 bedroom flat on Kirkdale. I think 2 hours every fortnight is about what I'm looking for, for a general clean and then additionals such as windows, fridge, oven etc. Do you have any recommendations?
