  1. it's a fun, puppy filled, joy filled family pub
  2. I too have only ever had good experiences with the food there. The portions are small because most of the dishes are a delicacy...who needs a large plate of oysters or foie gras? Good things come in small packages. And as for the waiter spilling water on you, did you even give them a chance to apologise properly? In my experience dropping anything on a customer makes me nervous and I would need a few seconds to calm down before apologising and if someone was automatically rude and started to huff and puff, my apology would be less whole hearted when I finally got round to doing so.
  3. I can see that lots of people have viewed this. Some encouragement or a cheery "good luck, pip pip" would be nice! Or a job offer :D
  4. Sally's has been there for ages in fact it's just closed down....
  5. Hello, For the last year I have been working as a carer/support worker/coolest buddy ever for a young girl with very specific needs due to illness and behavioural problems. I absolutely loved my work but sadly as she has become more ill, she has been moved to a care unit and I am unable to provide care on a professional level. So now I am last minute, looking for another job!!!! URGENTLY! I am going travelling in May for at least a year so rather than committing to another similar job, (and I see that as committing to another child and their family) I'd rather just work elsewhere to save up money fast for my travel fund. I am looking for work anywhere....bookshops, pubs, boutiques, cafes...ANYTHING! I would also consider nannying (I have experience in it) but understand that most parents want someone who can stay longer...if you need a temporary nanny I'm your gal!!!! So if you know of anything going or own a business where you feel I may be an asset, please get in contact. I will of course provide you with a more formal cover letter, a CV and excellent references!
  6. I dropped a glass jar of sieved tomato sauce on Crystal Palace road today so when I saw this thread I got really excited because I thought it was about me
  7. Get the 40 to Aldgate....that bits long but at least you'll get to sit down/stare out the window/snooze for a bit the walk to Liverpool street. One stop on the overhead to Stratford. Once your in Aldgate the journey is only about 20 minutes depending on if you know how to walk to Liverpool st or not

    Geocache

Has anyone found the Geocache capsule in Peckham rye park or nunhead cemetery? I'm not asking where it is but I am interested to find out how many people know about it or have taken part! Geocaching is a worldwide treasure hunt where you use a gps device and the coordinates provided to find the capsule. In the capsule you will find treasures that you can take providing that you leave something of equally good value (or higher value) in its place http://www.geocaching.com/
  9. As much as I love a good marks and Spencer's sandwich, as a 20 year old childminder who has just moved into a first flat, this sounds horrific to me. I need the likes of iceland to buy bread and chocolate (I'll give the 20 frozen burgers for ?1 a miss though)
  10. Bacon..blacon...as long as it smells and tastes like bacon it doesn't matter
  11. I'd say like bacon but with an L
  12. Strange request I know, But I was reading mine on the train today and I noticed an ad for a voluntary placement that I am really interested in. I wanted to look into it when I was home but I think I left the mag on the train! If anyone has a copy can you please find the page about jobs/voluntary work and post the details about volunteering in Florida with adults who suffer from mental illness and are homeless (I think it's orange with pictures of happy people on it!) Thanks :D

  14. Hello, My name is Kiran and I am 18 years old. I am looking to persure a career as a youth mentor/teaching assistant in schools for children and young adults with special needs. I do not have the qualifications to do so, as i studied drama, so I am looking to gain voluntary experience in working with children and in some cases, teaching them. I am currently AU-Pairing in Austria where I look after 3 girls and help them with homework and give them english lessons (they already are fluent in English, i give them lessons in grammar, literature etc) and I will be returning to London on the 12th April. I will be offering a weekly hours tuition in English for 6 months in return for a written reference and a phone call reference if needed. This offer is for children of primary school age (4-11). PM me if interested! smiling smiley
  15. I think this could potentially be the best thing I could ever do. I'm on this. Will there be a prize? Everyone can put in 15 pounds and that could be the prize at the end :D
