And I don't know the original poster, nor was I recruited by them.
  2. Wow I could have written this post myself. I completely agree and would advise anyone not to use Miranda. We were also left with an unfinished garden, and damaged plants and property (including the kids paddling pool - it must be her speciality!). I could write a long list of failings but I don't want to think about it any more - I lost enough sleep over it at the time. I wrote to Miranda and her business partner asking them to rectify the situation but have been repeatedly fobbed off with "my colleague will contact you to sort this out". In the end I gave up and paid someone else to finish the job (having already paid Miranda in full).
  3. I would also recommend Aston... In the last two days he has completely cleared our list of odd jobs: hanging about 7 pictures and a fire blanket, replacing the hinges on the garden gate and mending the fence, attaching a toilet roll holder to the wall, re-attaching a a couple of loose bathroom fittings to a tiled wall, repairing a water damaged ceiling, putting up a ceiling rose, and filling countless (at least 20) holes of varying sizes in the walls, including sanding them and priming reading for painting. He came prepared with all the kit, was reliable, punctual, polite, friendly (my kids loved him), and cleaned up after himself. Not sure what else you could ask for!
  4. Our roof box was stolen from the top of our car some time between Thursday (19/01/17) 6pm and Monday (23/01/17) 8am. The car was parked near Goose Green, on Amott Road outside the church/nursery. If anyone has any helpful info or sees a black Thule roof box abandoned somewhere, please let me know! Thanks.
  5. Thanks everyone for the suggestions, much appreciated! I've compiled a list for him to try. Fingers crossed...!
  6. Can anyone recommend a good route from Peckham Rye to WC2H on Shaftesbury Avenue (near junction with High Holborn) please? Nearest tube Tottenham Court Rd, but also in reach are Holborn and Leicester Square. Husband has started a new job and has been trying various TFL suggestions but it's taking him 90mins to get home, partly due to random delays, but still crazy! Thank you!
  7. I found a gold ring, possibly a wedding band, in Goose Green playground this week. If you think it could be yours, please reply with a description or photo of your lost ring and I'll let you know if it matches
  8. Sorry to add to the list but I can no longer make it either. My daughter woke up this morning with diarrhoea and I've been changing nappies, washing clothes and generally cleaning up poo all day! The timing is terrible as my husband is away. She was going to sleep over at a friends house tonight so I could go out and have a lie in tomorrow, but I can't inflict the explosive poo on my friend. Really disappointed as I haven't had a night out in ages. Hope you all have fun!
  9. Sorry I missed the last meet up but I can make it tomorrow night. I can probably get to the Actress for around 7.30 at the earliest. Is that good for everyone or should we say 8? Its been a while since I've been out on a Saturday night so no idea if we need to book!
  10. Great to meet everyone on Saturday. I can't make it on 19th. Tues, Weds and Thurs are generally best for me (and toddler). How about Tues 23rd?
  11. 10.30 good for me too. Shall we meet on the right hand side of the bar in the family friendly area - space for buggies and easy access to baby changing / toilets / playroom etc..
  12. This brings back memories! Not sure if you have tried a dummy but it really helped with our daughter. We were adamant we weren't going to use one before she was born but after ten days of constant crying (except when eating or sleeping) we gave in and never looked back! Agree with the suggestion of splitting shifts in the meantime - and when it's your time off do whatever you can to get some decent sleep, spare room, ear plugs etc... I wish we had done this sooner but we struggled on for ages thinking we were supporting each other by facing the night shifts together. It does get better! Best of luck x
  13. Happy with Duck Egg cafe. During the week they set aside a little area for kids with toys etc but unfortunately at the weekend they pack it away to make room for extra tables. One alternative would be the Victoria Inn on Bellenden Road as it has a playroom for kids so we can either sit in there with them or watch them on a screen from the pub. It opens at 9am on a Saturday. I reckon most other places would be fine if its a relatively small group with toddlers but a large group might be harder to accommodate. Hard to tell from the thread how many of us can make it. Looks like myself. SJK and Joanna77 are definites, who else is in?
