  1. World war z Makes sense
  2. Why bother saving 20 billion if it's so relatively meaningless? Did the nhs waste 12 billion on an it system or did private contractors not deliver? I'm not against either private companies or savings. But whatever merits this government has, they are out to destroy the nhs. Not make savings. Not save money. But get rid At least be honest about that I "need to be more aware". Cheeky fekker
  3. Best Christmas Lights Here
  4. Not even them dulwichfox, not even them You are titling at imaginary windmills There are no councillors like the ones in your head
  5. Dulwichfox showing people how to pick a fight where there isn't one But keep repeating it if it makes you think it's true df Another contribution to an angry country angry about all the wrong things
  6. So 12 billion is near meaningless in the scheme of things? That will be news to some of the coal face workers losing their jobs because 500k needs to be cut from their area Or an area you are familiar with mm. The nhs Meaningless 12 billion matters to well off but when front line take the brunt it's merely a speck? Ideological cant I literally have sick in my mouth when I read some of this
  7. Except with loz he is a nasty guardian adding type
  8. did everyone see loz's post? "Just looked the application up on the Southwark site - the application was refused."
  9. ""The facts of the matter are that we are currently consulting locally to see if people want a traditional fireworks display in the south of the borough. A decision on whether this goes ahead will be entirely up to them. "Finally, the council will not be holding an event called 'The Colour Thief'. This was an earlier proposed theme - not agreed council policy - for a community event but has since been dropped."" I'm not sure anything you assert is contradicted by Veronica's statement James? "'The Colour Thief'. This was an earlier proposed theme" isn't a lie that you can contradict when your statement is "79 local residents heard Verionica Ward last Thursday 15 September at Dulwich library during the Dulwioch Communminty Council hear her call it The Colour Thief" You are coming across as unreasonably obessed about this
  10. Kraftwerk had some "interesting" albums before hitting their stride with Autobahn. But that is a 4th album
  11. I'm going with Japan Adolescent Sex and Obscure Alternatives were the first two albums and fairly ropey When Quiet Life turned up people had to check it was them
  12. " is just going to be temporary? " can someone show me somewhere in London that has something like that permanently?? I'd say it's temporary
  13. trizza & willard - exactly it'll be fine and we'll miss it when it's gone* and bitching about how the Foresters under Greene King is rubbish *well maybe not miss it, but given some of the eyesores in the area it's no big deal
  14. not sure I ever said that loz That said I will always argue that people driving several tons of metal need to be more aware than people on foot trying to take a shortcut. But I don't blame TfL for either of the scenarios if I'm honest
  15. can we not get it erected over the police station instead?
  16. but isn't that just bad driving? If people aren't expecting a changed layout, or find it awkward, how do they cope when something more serious (like a child appearing from behind a parked car) happens
  17. is it that bad really? Doesn't it look like the sort of thing that is on buildings when they are being redeveloped? Is it worse than scaffolding? I doubt it's a permanent fixture
  18. could be Greene King plan to revert to the old name then
  19. A pedant writes: Cure's first album was three imaginary boys. Boys don't cry was a sort of mini compilation I think Apart from that, a fine selection from Pablo g I was going to say funeral by arcade fire but piers got there first So I'm going to say the first tindersticks album. Awesome http://www.allflac.com/covers/b_40368_Tindersticks-First_Album-1993.jpg
  20. ooooooops - confused him on this thread with another erm.. I'm off to apply for a job at Southwark council sorry shorty
  21. that's not just this thread mockers
  22. "as they think of yet more ways in which they can ban fun." I'm trying to think of the last time Soutwark council tried to stop me having fun - nope But this Light Thief business if it had gone ahead - that would have been a real slap in the face. Instead of going out on a cold Nov evening and enjoying some fireworks,I would have had to go out and... oh hang on a sec This thread is just nothing but a) computedshorty being bored since Nunhead forum died b) James Barber (who I have defended on many an occassion) trying to make political gain (of you google the story you get several lib-dem blogs all parroting the same thing c) another excuse for people to council-bash for no good reason bash away - you'll end up being served by the people you deserve
  23. Problem with traditions Ridgely is that they didn't all come fully-formed at the same time - and everyone went "yes I like that, let's do that forever" they have all been co-opted and evolved over time. None of them have ever stayed exctly the same As for renaming Waterloo, did you even read my link above?
  24. I'd day it is, bird
  25. Once the nunhead forum died, this was always likely
