Of course we draw a distinction. But we don't admire either. She is no jihadist but her views on, say, the poor, are toxic. Nothing to admire there
-
But why is that admirable? I don't get it Jihadists say what they think. Is that admirable? Having something admirable to think and say? Now that is harder
-
You don't have to admire either surely?
-
No one is accusing her of being a coward. Not all trolls hide behind keyboards But to express any admiration for her? How low do your standards have to be
-
Insinuation? How so?

Trying to buy a house in this area is near impossible

Eh? Tax? In the previous (this ^) post?? -
Speaking of... Just read this tonight "I don't think trolls, from Katie Hopkins down, realise how easy what they do is. They're just thrilled to find something they're good at."
-
cheers otta ( "the man" flicked a switch really. yeah.... I know)
-
don't know if it's work filters or what but when I try and access the article on city am I get "Forbidden You don't have permission to access /" now that says SOMETHING, I'm just not quite sure what...

yeah underneath, there must be good use for the space in terms of storage But for the flow of the bar/restuarant, and from a customer perspective it sucks the life out of the place K&W is a different proposition - standard kebab/fruit out the front. The fact that it sometimes doubles as "a more atmospheric" restaurant out the back is something I suspect most other operations aren't trying to emulate

could be a couple of reasons for that 85v - my money is on them going in every day, looking at that hump in teh middle of the building and wondering what the heck they are going to do with it (just as previous and future tenants/owners have and will) more likely various planning stages need to be signed off before the hard graft starts in earnest

seriously, one or two posts where you lose your rag and call be a moron or c**t is one thing, but EVERY SINGLE POST now stick to the topic (ps it was nothing to do with spelling or grammar - it was a play on words about how frequently you use "moron" - and because you used "morning" in the 1st line, I joked along the lines of you misspelling moron. Not funny I grant you, but I wasn't picking at your spelling or grammar) and using "Thought it was the local East Dulwich discussion forum. " as an argument is rich coming from someone who has told me to stop posting several times
-
of course the analogy doesn't work anyway does it - anyone with a headache has a headache. Living in East Dulwich, (or even same street) most people can hear the aircraft, it just doesn't bother them to the same extent. That's substantially different
-
he got the spelling of moron wrong in the first line too

where did you move/park your car to make space? On the whole bins thing, I agree it would seem ?fair usage? rules should apply and on rare occasion when you need to keep a space free, marking space should be ok But people being people that gets abused. So now we have plenty of people who routinely do that to keep their own space, inflation has set in and bins marking a space has no currency anymore Plus, in this instance, for a plumber? It would be nice and convenient, but he?s a plumber. He will be used to finding his own space and dealing with it accordingly

Advice about ground rent (local average costs)
StraferJack replied to rye_lass's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
"Just my 2p after being a shared freeholder. It can actually help, rather than hinder good maintenance." yep, I agree with this. But not unconditionally Had 1 flat in a 5 flat house in Friern Road and teh arrangement worked pretty well. But what started to happen over several years was that most of the other flats became tenants rather than the owners. And they were lovely tenants - but communication about what needs to going to the overall building gets lost. Plus the owner who would spend so much time persuading me to do x or y work just a year earlier became less interested when he no longer lived there (even tho it was still their responsibility) Communal Hallways were a main bugbear - people who lived on ground floor don't want to spend a dime on the main stairs/landing on the other 2 floors -
I'd say that was as close to 100% cert as possible yeknomyeknom same chain, aware of demographics etc

people saying "i'd rather not be overlooked thanks" seems fair enough But people were saying that customers of new cafe would be able to spy on their children - that was weird
-
Seems to have brought about a rare forum consensus - hurrah! I'm even going to try and answer a question from Louisa without bickering "What about a rooftop terrace area at the back of the building for outside seating? Is that viable?" I think the houses behind there are sensitive to being overlooked - a nearby proposal for rear terrace for a new cafe kicked off some silly brou ha ha

Otta - have a look at this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1553486 you might have googled already, and devices not exactly same but I'm guessing androidy is enough?

no one has been shouted down fabfor since mike and james posted mike and james both added their points which agree with you and that's fair enough I see that james' post has been mocked by el pibe for obvious reasons but other than that noone is shouting apart from you. to say this doesn't affect or concern me when you have a petition to change something pretty fundamental is a bit off tho
-
indeed PP, but it is a post and point that has been made several times on this thread, to no avail
-
You think I'm ranting? How so? I've been posting on this forum for 7 years now. Approx 15000 posts from me haven't cowed people into silence. This forum expands and expands. No one could give two hoots about my contribution Far more likely that people, aren't posting on this topic because you are in a teeny minority Which is ok, that's fine. But urging people, to sign petitions and using language describing now it will damage our children is not fine. That is scaremongering. And that is why I am posting on this thread
-
I am not trolling in the slightest i am pointing out how you are saying it's a huge issue, but basically noone else is joining in Several people are trying to present facts and their own experience to highlight how out of proportion you have this issue but you are having none of it But pointing out how extreme your view is doesn't make me a troll - you do understand that don't you? there are a TINY number of people posting about the noise on here. Miniscule. You evoke a scene in the park where people can't enjoy the sun. Where ARE these people? Why are they not posting on here? fazer - "Why would someone who doesn't have a problem with aircraft noise insult someone who does? " what's with the accusation - insulted you? how so?
