  1. Thank you, I have just found the Peltor ones and ordered one. cheers
  2. Where do I get them? I have seen babies wearing them at festivals and we are going to a football match and I would like to get one of those. I have googled it but got random results so thought someone here might know where I can get one of those!TIA
  3. I woke up to find the window of my car smashed and the radio taken. Nothing fancy, we drive a 12 year old car. Doesn't seem that whoever did this was in a hurry, every compartment was opened, they went through every piece of paper, opened the boot and searched inside 3 bags I had in there. I stood there, baby is arms. not sure of what to do! There have been many other incidents in my road recently, a lot of stuff has been taken, motorbikes, cars, bicycles and I have seen at least 2 other cars that were broken into... It is obviously the same group/person coming back, and might I say whoever it is is pretty confident because it keeps coming back with a matter of weeks.... Surely there must be a way to stop these people from stealing and destroying property of hard working citizens ..I am so annoyed!!!
  4. I have the miracle blanket which my daughter loves then i tried the swaddle pod because i thought it would be cooler for the summer days and she screamed until i took it off. Perhaps if you use it from the start it might work but because my daughter could still move her arms it didn't work for us.
  5. I have a 4 year old female tortoishell that needs a temporary home for 4-6 months. We are having problems where we live but because I am on maternity leave we cannot afford to move now and we love our cat and don't want to get rid of her so would be ever so grateful if we found a lovely home for her until we get sorted. If you love cats and would be willing to home our baby for a while please send me a pm. Forgot to mention that we will provide her food.
  6. Annemarie - Congratulations on the birth of your baby Benjamin! We are pretty much free every thrusday am. Last wk I went to PeckhamPlex and it was rather lovely :-).. I am happy to host if weather is no good :-)
  7. I was induced in June, was nearly 40 weeks but my blood pressure was a bit high so the decision was made to induce. Like you I was scared but in the end it was all fine. I had the pessary at 11pm, started contracting the next morning and although I was told the pessary would stay in for 24hrs it got removed because they were hoping it had been enough to start off and that my body would take over. when they checked I had started to dilate and was 2cm, after lunch still 2cm so my waters were broken. Evening came and I was till 2cm so they started me on the drip, after that it was all very quick. I was put on the drip and had my epidural, I went to sleep and 4 hours later I woke up to be fully dilated. I wanted a very natural birth (wasn't planning to take any meds) but I am very glad I followed the advice of a friend who was induced as well. She told me to take whatever pain medication they offered if I had to be induced because when you go into labor naturally you body has time to adjust to the pain but when you are induced the pain is suddenly there. The moment they broke my water the pain started within a matter of minutes and it was hell so I just said YES PLEASE to whatever they offered and after the meds started working I basically slept though most of it..until pushing time obviously :-) From my experience I think it's important to have as much information as you can, for example I knew pethidine would have an effect on the baby so when they offered me it I was able to ask questions and make an informed decision. Good luck and hope all goes well!
  8. Thank you, Yes I am already pumping and have bags of frozen milk in the freezer 'just in case' so thought I might as well donate some since I seem to produce plenty. Will call them today.
  9. Thank you, so do I just go to the maternity ward?
  10. I would like to donate breastmilk, does anyone knows how it works? Do I collect at home or do I go to the hospital to pump? I have found a phone number online but no one answers it.
  11. That is the problem with the bugaboo, it's bulky! I love it but hey you can't have it all! I am flying business so thought that perhaps they would have it ready as you get off the plane? Just dreaming lol.... We are flying to South America so it's an 11 hrs flight... will probably call BA to see what they advise better be safe than sorry....
  12. Will be travelling soon and I am wondering if the bugaboo can go with us or if we have to check in with luggage.. I don't have the travel bag for it and I am sure it will get ruined if it goes with the luggage.. also hoping to keep baby in until we board..
  13. Thanks Pickle, sounds great, what time does it start? I will try to pop by next week.
  14. Forgive my ignorance but kind of class is it? My baby is 10 wks old and I am trying to find places to g to get me out of the house! Is it on every friday? At what time and how much do you pay per session, TIA
  15. It's been really quiet over here! Watch with baby screenings? Just read a thread about these at PeckhamPlex. This week's movie is Friends with benefits, anyone fancy going? Thursdays 11.30am ?5.99 (inc refreshments)
  16. I would be interested in finding a host family for my Brazilian nephew who is 17 around ED. He is a very polite and independent boy and he will be staying in London for 3 months ideally from mid December. We would like him to experience a cultural exchange hence why he is not staying with us although he will probably spend weekends with us. We would be interested to hear from a family with a spare room to rent or even a family with older boys he could help out with as an aupair. He will attend english classes part time. Please be in touch via pm. Thanks in advance, gabi
