  1. Appreciate any advice as Decathlon seems a little far to go.
  2. I love the Little Kickers early morning class. My boys have been attending since they were 18 months old have really developed their skills. They go to the 8:30am class with their dad which means I get to sleep in (occasionally)...
  3. There are soany to choose from. Toca bocca doctor & train are a favorite, Blue hat/green hat book app, wheels on the bus, old McDonald, I hear ewe, doodle buddy and yes we also let them play angry birds, cut the rope and talking Tom. The last three are designed for older children/adults and downloaded for me but our kids love them too and if the apps are there, chances are you children will find them.
  4. I am with Fushia on the parent and child spaces. Last week after trying to find a space for twenty mins big enough to get toddlers out of their car seats from both sides of the car, I parked in the far back. As i was walking back a woman was loading her groceries in one of the reserved spaces. She had no child in sight and there was no seat in the back. I took a picture (that includes the license plate) and sent in a complaint letter. I hope she gets a ticket. Even if she doesnt, i felt better for at least doing something. I never want to confront people for fear of a violent reaction. You never know what kind of day someone was having...
  5. Are you allowed to have an open fire in your back garden in East Dulwich? I am not planning on this but have smelled smoke today coming from a back garden near Barry road.
  6. We always use www.englandtransfers.com Free car seats and door to door means no stress. The additional cost is worth it.
  7. Does anyone know of a good pick your own pumpkin farm that is not miles away? Are there any children's halloween parties in East Dulwich?
  8. I used the Destiny kids website link, clicked on the contact us and completed my details. I received a call back from them the next day. I have some reservations as the individual who called was not very professional on the phone but I am going for a visit later this week and will report back. tel: 0207 732 2544
  9. Any advice on the recommended age and how to start?
  10. If you are going to/from the airport www.englandtransfers.com is great. Their car seats are free and they don't charge you for any wait time. Bad news is they only go to/from the airport so this isn't helpful if you need to go somewhere local.
  11. Are there any babysitting parent groups in the area? E.g. where your partner stays home to watch your own kids while you go to a house to watch kids for another family. The next time you swap and get the night off while one parent is at home with your kids? This saves on the cost of a babysitter, you know the parent has experience of full time care for kids and makes going out for the evening much more reasonable. We found a family around the corner from us and found this has worked well once or twice, or course it isn't great if you both want to go out on the same night but at least it is an option. I would be interested in finding another couple families if anyone is interested please PM me Ko - Sitters charges a quarterly membership and booking fees. ?13.85 per quarter + booking fee, usually ?4 per booking, ?6 for short notice/daytime. The standard rates are suppose to be Weekdays: ?5.95 per hour, Weekends: ?6.95 per hour but it depends on the sitter. You are advised of the rates when a sitter is booked and can cancel if you are not happy with the rate of the sitter they have offered.
  12. We went to Walt Disney World for the first time when our twins were 5 months old. They won't remember but we had a great time. I would highly recommend taking a baby carrier as well as a pram as you can't take a pram in most queues and restaurants. You will also have to collapse the pram to take the trolley if you are driving and need the transport to/from the car park. The Animal Kingdom & Epcot parks are the best for babies. The shows are great and there are some slow rides. You can make reservations in advance at the restaurants or bring your own food in. For Magic Kingdom, I second the above recommendations for Its a small world - we went on it multiple times. Dumbo & Peter Pan are also really good. Don't forget to get your Fastpass (they have this for Peter Pan) which saves you from standing in line for the most popular rides. You can only get one at a time and have to wait until your time slot ends before getting another one so get it first thing and then get another one when it runs out. As mentioned above, take advantage of the the "baby swap" (which is really an "adult swap".) First, parents and kid(s) all line-up together; Parent A rides first with any older kids, while Parent B stays to one side with baby or under-height kids; once the ride is over, the parents change places, and again one parent rides while the other one waits. There is also a single rider queue on some rides which works great as it normally moves very fast. Have a great time!
  13. Could anyone provide some advice on how to clean bath toys. I don't want to use harsh chemicals but the inside of our yellow ducks and other bath toys have mildew and I am not sure how to clean them.
  14. Typically for the first 6 weeks an employee is still responsible to pay for the vouchers. After this period if you are only receiving SMP or unpaid maternity leave, your employer is required to contribute on your behalf. If you have other flexible benefits (e.g. pension contributions), these must also continue while you are on maternity leave.
  15. I love our nipper 360. If it doesn't rain, we will be in Peckham Rye park tomorrow from 10:30 until around 1 near the cafe. There are a couple twins moms who have the nipper as well who will be joining me and you are welcome to try your daughter out in ours. It fits in any wheelchair accessible door and if you can't fit most of the time you can pop one wheel off and get through.
