  1. Hallo there everyone. This Father's Day, Penge is ready for you! We have over 140 stalls registered for our jumble trail, including beer and burgers from Late Knights brewery, a rib shack, jerk chicken, a face painter for the kids, homemade crafts and bargains galore. https://www.facebook.com/events/374869029366718/
  2. We did! Moved in yesterday. Have a feeling we'll be surrounded by boxes for quite some time hence but delighted with all the space. My oldest is 3 1/2 and she'll be at cator park Montessori in September. Youngest is 16 months. Would be lovely to meet up when you're ready!
  3. Just want to recommend Garry - great communication, arrived on time and fixed my boiler with no trouble. Tel no. is 07882 642 799, email [email protected]
  4. Our survey is happening this week so still have fingers crossed but if all goes to plan, JulieW, would love to meet up!
  5. Really interested in this discussion - thanks to all. We've also had an offer accepted on a place in Penge. It's near Winsford Gardens, which seems to be a nice little community-maintained park. I'm excited to move there - think the high street will be very useable and I'm hoping the groups I've so far met on Facebook (SE20 mums and dads etc) will translate to a friendly feel about the place. We've lived in Herne Hill for ten years, and my sister for five years before that, and I've been amazed at how during the time I've known it it's gone from essentially a junction to a place with that much-sought-after 'villagey feel'. Penge at the moment is of course not like ED or HH, but personally I found it recognisable and I think it'll be exciting to be there as it continues changing over the next few years.
  6. Or you could come along to StitchED and BitchED on Tuesday evenings. Fortnightly meet-ups are at the ED Tavern from 7.30 - next one is 7 May. It's administered mostly via FB at the moment so if you've got an account there you can search 'groups' for 'StitchED and BitchED'
  7. Hi everyone. Hope all's well with your bumps and babes. Would anyone like to meet up soon? Perhaps next Monday (29th)? Oh, and if anyone's up for Les Mis Watch With Baby at the Peckham Plex I'll see you there this Thurs. Xx Sophie
  8. I would love to join this group. I'm a knitter and newly taught crocheter with a 2yo and a newborn. 2yo currently spends Mon-Thurs with a childminder so first half of the week best for me. Oh, and happy Christmas!
  9. So sorry I couldn't make it last night. Hope it was a good one and will see you all at the next! Sophie xx
  10. Thanks very much for last night, everyone! I had a great time meeting you all. While chatting with Sonya, I recommended 'Brockwell Park Massage' as a local place where I'd had a couple of really great pregnancy massages. They were ?20 each as there was an introductory offer - very reasonable, I thought, for over an hour's treatment. Melanie (whose show it is) will be at the Lambeth Country Fair this weekend, in the holistic tent, if you're at all interested: http://us5.campaign-archive2.com/?u=77a58ce16edebf722ff9ec2d0&id=072d3ad88b And then later I mentioned Merry-Go-Round, the shop on Half Moon Lane in Herne Hill that sells secondhand children's clothing and also secondhand maternity wear (it's in the back so you wouldn't necessarily notice if you were walking past it). I promise I'm not on any sort of commission from these places! Just thought they might maybe be useful. Looking forward to seeing you all again soon, Sophie
  11. Sorry to hear your little one's not feeling so well, arworld! I'll be coming along - solo, too, as other half will be babysitting no. 1. Looking forward to meeting you all!
  12. Ramble is there a Surestart children's centre near you? The one near me runs baby massage classes, and a friend from our (free) NHS antenatal class went to a parenting skills class in the one near her. They can be a great way to socialise with other parents, if a little less formalised than NCT groups.
  13. Hi all, I had my first baby in 2010 at King's and have absolutely no complaints. I was lucky as it was a very straightforward birth, but I'd have no hesitation about recommending the place. First time around, I didn't ask for a waterbirth as I worried it might add unnecessary complication (what if there wasn't a pool free? what if it meant I couldn't have an epidural? etc etc) but this time I think I'm definitely going to ask. Can't hurt, after all. Bump is already massive - I think my stomach muscles just gave up the ghost after the last pregnancy - and scan is on 26 July
  14. I'm expecting a winter baby! My second, due on 1 December. Anyone else out there?
