Once the 0% deal goes don't even *think* about using Foxtons AND another estate agent. Foxton's contract states that they are entitled to their cut on sale, NOT if THEY make the sale. That means that if the other estate agent sells your property, Foxtons will still come after you for their commission. You end up paying twice over.

I say the police staton should get turned into a huge Moon Under the Water.
  3. I bet he heard that the White Stuff was defo going to open up on Lordship Lane, and decided that it was the only way out.
  4. I think what Lordship Lane really needs is a Virgin Records or an HMV - and wouldn't it be fab if Books Etc. took over that scruffy shop at the top of the street?

  7. God - has anyone here chekced out Whateley Road? Potatopeople-arama!
  8. Armed robberies happen across London all the time. Italian restaurants opening up in the area are much rarer, and would look better on a thread entitled ``Gosh, aren't there lots of armed robberies going on!''
  9. Back to more important things - has that Italian opened yet?
  10. Well that's an improvement. Last time I went there, I had no "hello" or "goodbye" let alone any smile.
  11. What a gorgeous cat. I will keep my eyes peeled for her. You could try and contact Battersea Dogs and Cats Home as they run a lost & found service. http://www.dogshome.org/ Also the lovely ladies from the RSPCA London South East might be able to put a note on their website and spread the word. http://www.rspca-london-se.org.uk/ I think you should also tell the vets in the area to keep their eyes opened for her as well (in case someone decides to "adopt" her...). I know my vet (http://www.brockwellvets.co.uk/) also puts notices in his window for lost cats. It would be a good way to "reach out" to all his customers. Good luck and keep us posted.
  12. Now spring is here, I started my vespa up this morning, and discovered the battery is flat. I also decided to check the MOT cert, and found out it expires tomorrow... There are a million garages in the area and a million scooters. Does anyone know anywhere within rolling distance of Lordship Lane that can a)charge my battery and b) sort out my MOT. Thanks
  13. Hi there. Can anyone recommend a newsagent that does reliable early morning (by 7am latest) deliveries, and doesn't mangle the paper as it gets shoved though the letterbox?
