  1. I'm actually on maternity leave! Would love to go to something baby friendly that involves crafts and cake... count me in!
  2. Looking forward to meeting you all again tomorrow! I'll be the one with the red nose (grrr colds). Kath x
  3. Just looked at the patient numbers on the NHS choice website (as suggested by Burbage) and the figures speak for themselves: DMC (Crystal Palace Road):12,131 306 Medical Centre: 2,834 The Lordship Lane surgery: 4,923 The Gardens surgery: 6,506 But in all fairness, it does have a lot more GPs.
  4. Hi Moggsvet/Amber, which pilates class do you go to? I really need to start something before I lose any semblance of fitness! Anyone else getting out of breath going up stairs? As to books CharDale, I'm reading 'How not to f*** them up' by the psychologist Oliver James and would highly recommend it. It's a really nonjudgmental approach to motherhood, different mothering styles and the going back to work childcare dilemmas. I've been given a lot of earth-mother type books recently and it's quite nice to read something that keeps it real.
  5. Looking forward to meeting some of you lovely ladies tomorrow! Partner's been persuaded to come too so hope he's got some male company... Kath x
  6. I got the photocopied form as well... it was towards the end of the stapled section my midwife gave on our booking in appointment. I can bring a p/c if you're coming on the 12th? On another note... just had my 22 week scan at Kings and it's a boy!!! Help! Obviously am over the moon he's healthy but I've not got a clue about bringing up boys. Any thoughts on how it may be different from a girl (apart from the obvious)?? And is anyone else having a boy?
  7. Great idea! I've just come back from holiday and was hoping that something had been arranged. Looking forward to meeting you all and bumps! Kath
  8. Hi Salsie, correct me if I'm wrong someone, but I think they're held at Dulwich Hospital over a three week period. My midwife said that you have book them through the Kings Antenatal clinic (or ring 0203 299 9000 ext 3246 option 1) and they're every night from 6.30-8.30 and a few ones in the day too. Not sure how they differ from the NCT ones... but they're free so it's worth a go. Kath
  9. Congratulations to you all! I'm due on the 26th of December (praying it's going to be late, rather then a day early) and it's my first as well, so it's all a bit overwhelming. Has anyone started thinking about where they would like to give birth yet? Am dithering over having a birthing pool... any thoughts?
  10. Thanks for everyone's advice... it sounds like the BH bakery basket is the way forward.
  11. Help! One of my best friends has just given birth after a pretty traumatic labour, she's okay now but I need some advice on what to get her and her little boy. What's been the best present you've received after giving birth? Or do I just buy her something lovely? Any advice gratefully received.
