  1. Hello, I am looking for a great personal trainer that specialises in running. I would appreciate any recommendations. Many thanks, Lin
  2. The See Woo in Greenwich is also good. I haven't been to Chinatown for many years now, I am sure it has changed a lot... Thank you ArtfulDogger. I will check them out. I love sticky rice, never tried to make it myself. I own a rice cooker I wonder if I can make it in that.... What other dishes have you made?
  3. Thank you Graham for bringing that to my attention. That sounds very much the issue I am having. I am going to take a look tomorrow for the tube mentioned. Thank you!!!
  4. Hi everyone, I would be grateful for any recommendations for a good mechanic or garage. There is flooding in my spare wheel well of my VW Golf SV. Interested to hear from anyone that has experienced anything similar with their car. Many thanks!
  5. Hi, I have been thinking about selling my children's stuff at a nearly new sales. Anyone been to these before or had a stall at one? Just wondered how busy they are and would appreciate any advice about how to set up and pricing. I presume I need to bring my own table and lay things on that? Also, is November not a good time to have one or should I wait till after Christmas? Many thanks!
  6. Hi everyone, Does anyone know or have used a Well Being Expert with a focus on families? I am the Lead for the Family Network at work and I am looking for a speaker. Many thanks!

Thank you Admin. This is really weird but my post titled 'Dolly Parton's Imagination Library' has been deleted. I had two replies this morning but when I clicked on the link to read the posts there was a message 'sorry, the message you have requested could not be found'. I went into my control centre and could see the posting was no longer in my 'followed thread' section. Can you please let me know why my post has been deleted. I was trying to spread the word about this great scheme that provides free books to children. Thanks.
  9. Thank you flocker spotter. That is really helpful information. Sorry for the delay in replying. Admin moved my post to 'Family classified' before I realised and contacted them.
  10. I started my first job aged 14 years old at McDonald's. Earning my own money was the best feeling in the world. Such a shame if young people have the desire to work but the opportunities are not there. Seems more and more jobs now and in the future are for the academically able.
  11. Hi, Just wondering if your child worked part-time and if so, what job do they have? When I was young there was lots of low/entry level jobs, e.g. supermarket, retail, paper round etc. but with self-checkouts taking over everywhere I was wondering what do young people do now?

Hi Admin, I originally posted in 'Family Room Discussions' http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?25,1932752,1932752,quote=1#REPLY because I wanted to have a discussion about how does an au pair arrangement work in reality and wanted to hear from other families' experiences. My post has been moved to 'Family Room Classified', just wondering why it has been moved there as I am not advertising for an au pair? I doubt I am going to get many replies to my post now. Appreciate if you could clarify. Thanks.
  13. Hi Petra, Are you still looking? Can recommend someone if you are.
  14. Hi everyone, In case you are not aware, you can also get recommendations from local residents on the site. I use this as well as EDF when I am looking for help and find it really helpful. https://nextdoor.co.uk
