Hey James, you made it to 100 pages on the forum. Congratulations! A good 'vehicle' to understand the needs and views of those you represent. -
Will the trees in Barry road ever come in to leaf?
pebs replied to treehugger's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Agree with comments here. Are they going to do this every year? Ridiculous. My beef is actually with Southern who have ruthlessly cut down all trees either side of the tracks in south London, with many not close to the railway lines. When you travel by train it used to feel like a green oasis - not any more. All because of the wrong kind of leaves I suspect ... -
thanks for all your help !

Hi, anybody aware of any pubs with big screen? last time I went to East Dulwich Tavern they did not have one... thanks

Hi, just also posting to sing Paul's praises. He came round today to look at a problem I had with my washing machine -as it was a damp problem not a plumbing one he did not charge. Would recommend.

for me crstal palace road - bellenden road - lyndhurst way - cut through an estate - go through corner of burgess park - portland road - bypass elephant - up through trinity church sq - then borough high st and london bridge an absolute winner! 30 mins home to EC3.... No big roads until borough high st -
Apologies if posted already but an interesting discussion on independent wine shops at the end of Sunday's Food Programme. Good interview with Green and Blue. You can listen on iplayer if you so wish! Great to see them getting some exposure.

peckhamboy you are absolutely bang on with your analysis. I think DC tried not to get sucked into the depths of a rabid GB who was always overrunning the time/cluncking fist etc - so he could appear to take the moral high ground. However the down side of this was that it did make him look a bit timid.

James, do we get better street lighting or is that for another day? thanks
-
James, Appreciate your efforts and responses. LL really needs another pedestrian crossing by East Dulwich Grove. Any news on this? best regards.

Great news about showing sport as precious few pubs seem to show it here (esp. rugby, cricket). Need a 'sporting replacement' for the Mag which with new owners turned too girlie for my liking!
-
thanks, was hoping somewhere else would show the game that was a bit less busy but still had a big screen, guess not...
-
anybody know if they are showing in the plough? big screen?? thanks

You know absolutely nothing about me so please don't make assumptions.

ibilly99 Quite agree. Enough is enough with regard to antisocial behaviour. Thoroughly fed up with it. Society needs to sort out this problem - much more proactively. I would love to tell these 'kids' 'what for' but we can't these days now can we for fear of something horrible happening. I've got young kids and not prepared to tolerate this kind of stuff - agressive behaviour, bad language etc. Especially when my kids become slightly older. Shame, was born in London and don't want to move out. The situation is significantly worse than say 20 years ago - that fact is without dispute. If it is disputed it's just another example of pseudo intellectual forum nonsense.

Many thanks for this, and the thread in particular...

Hi All, Looking for some advice...I'm currently paying ?76 per month for buildings (only) insurance in SE22. This has gone up from ?56 in early 2005. Our house (4 beds, semi) had a partial underpinning in 1991 so when we bought it I went with the same insurer as the previous owners. No probs since 1991. I'm either thinking of writing to the financial ombudsman service about the current price of the insurance, or the alternative, presumably would be to get s structural engineers report giving the OK, and then onto a specialist insuerance broker. Anybody else been through this? Any advice, recommened people/companies and idea of costs? Perhaps ?76 per month is not outrageous for SE22 in reality? Thanks v. much.

Bye bye trains (Network Rail planning to ditch South London line)

This is outrageous. What to do? -
Whoever decided to plant this on the roundabout is a genius. Every time I go past it makes me think of holidays!
