  1. Hello, We are moving to Nottingham in October after living in ED for the past 4 years. Any suggestions for areas in Nottingham and also for schools, both primary and secondary as my son is in year6 now? I will be working in QMC. Is it wiser to move to Nott and then apply for schools or vice versa? thanks
  2. If you fancy, you can volunteer at the paralympic torch relay - http://www.southwark.gov.uk/news/article/910/council_calls_for_volunteers_for_the_paralympic_torch_relay_and_elephant_and_the_nun_festival
  3. Is is possible for you to force your little girl (by showing cartoons or characters which she like) of eating fruits with lots of water content like melons? She definitely has some fear (due to previous UTI - fear of pain while passing urine, in previous instances) and that forces her to hold her bladder as long as possible. Do speak to her that nothing is wrong with her and that she is fine (as with frequent visits to doctors and tests give an impression that something is wrong with her). My daughter is 3.4 yrs old and even when bruised to a great extent, when told that its a minor thing and brushed aside, she gets off it. So please do try.
  4. Thank you Loz and drew for the details. The sad thing is that we are not able to get tickets to events in the Olympic park and so are not allowed in(though we have tickets to football at Manchester).
  5. Hello, Is is possible for my kids to get a picture with the Olympic torch and its bearer? My friends in Scotland and also at Harrow have posted pictures of them with the torch-torch bearer on their leg of the torch relay. I was hoping to do so on the 26th July, but found a lot of baricades in Peckham and the bearers were taken back into a bus/van as soon as they finished their 300m. Thanks
  6. Vomiting is a way of the body rejecting something in the stomach. give very small quantities of fresh coconut water or fresh lime/lemon juice with little sugar and a pinch of salt (for all the dehydration).
  7. Fibre helps with constipation and bowel movement. So nothing wrong with having lots of fibre as our body normally sends out what it doesnot need within 24 hours. So as long as your baby enjoys what she/he eats and is healthy in all aspects, dont worry. I have 2 kids and in my culture, we are adviced not to give too much of meals prepared will 'all purpose flour' (even for adults) - as it has less fibre and therefore not good.
  8. Try using straws - the disposable ones. Ask your kid to choose the colour - to make it interesting and also if he/she likes to watch cartoons - Peppa Pig, they show Peppa and his brother drinking juice from glasses with straws. So its easier to make them imitate a character they can watch. I delibrately made my kids to stop the bottle when they were a year old. Its healthier with a glass as we can clean it well when compared to bottles and beakers.
  9. Hi, Does anyone know at what time the new year mid-night mass starts at St.Thomas more church? Thanks in advance, Anbarasu
