I don't mind if he wants to go back to Madrid at some point, but at least we would now get some decent money for him. During the summer he never moaned or threw a sulk, came back to Mcr and got on with his training etc. Fans won't have a problem with him...

A side issue, but it may give you some 'leverage' with your neighbours. From your OP, it reads like the building works commenced soon after they bought the house. Is the new side return extension on the boundary you share with them? If so, did they serve you with a Party Wall notice, and has a Party Wall Award been agreed? If not, they should've done, and they can't start work on the extension until all the paper work is signed off. There might be planning issues too. Just saying like...

Not quite half a billion though is it? That figure isn't the net spend either, which takes into account money received from sales. Yes Liverpool have spent a lot the past couple of summers, but they have also received a lot for Suarez and Stirling. I previously posted a link to this summer's current net spend table. So far Utd's net spend this summer is ?14.5m, although that's debatable as German papers reported that we bought Basti for ?6m, not the British press oft quoted ?14m. Add in the latest fee received for Evans and it's an actual profit. Of course that could all change in the next 36 hours...
