  7. I did jokingly say in the League last season that there would be a 10 point bonus for the player with the least incorrect scores. But no one picked up on it so I left it. I don't think it's a bad idea as the 3 points for a correct score can be unrewarding sometimes. For instance, some Predictor games grade the points for a correct score, e.g. a 0-3 prediction would score more points than 1-1. Probably fairer and in line with what a bookmaker would offer, but moving away from the Lawro model which started the whole thing...
  8. I know, trying to put the hex on RC, can't have him winning everything... ;-)

Unlike Ozil, can see him easily adapting to the physical demands of the Premier League. Another attacking midfielder though, and with talk of signing Khedira/Bender, makes you wonder what will happen to the likes of Wilshire and OxC...
  10. Agree about Suarez not being a good fit in current Barca side, whereas he would've fitted in seamlessly at Real. Maybe Enrique is about to abandon Tika Taka...
  11. Well done everyone, it's been a good, close competition. Annoyed at myself for missing some of the early group games, but expect others did too. Might be tempting fate, but I've already inscribed the cup with RC's name...

My abiding memory of Keane is that night in Turin, when 0-2 down, he singlehandedly grabbed the game by the scruff of the neck and bossed a Juventus midfield consisting of Zidane, Deschamps and Davids...you need to get out more maxxi :)

The 'minority' also includes medical experts that carried out examinations on Haaland. These medical exams came about after Haaland read Keane's autobiography, and no doubt with ? signs flashing away, he decided to take legal action against Keane for ending his career. For a damages claim to stand up, he had to get independent medical opinion, which subsequently confirmed that Haaland's career was ended by another injury, and Keane's tackle played no part whatsoever in Haaland retring from the game. The legal action was immediately dropped. You were wrong to say that Keane ended Haalands's career, and you were wrong to say he broke his leg. You see 'my friend', that is what is known as facts, not the ramblings of a hate filled, bile spewing troll. You and anyone else is perfectly entitled to namecall Keane, it doesn't bother me in the slightest. As Mick said, it's a bit pointless and reflects more on the poster, but each to their own. I seem to remember you took umbrage that a poster called you a c*nt in the not too distant past. Seems that you like to dish it out but can't take it...

Playing (red) Devil's advocate...maybe there was some method in their madness. The pundits reckoned it was a deliberate tactic, as that's how England will have to play in Brazil with the heat and humdity, they won't be able to go hung ho...
  15. Parkdrive Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Didn't help though did it? Which bit of ''...it didn't even injure him'' don't you get? He didn't break his leg. He didn't end his career. Before coming on here frothing at the mouth, try coming up with some actual facts...
  16. Keane's tackle didn't break Haland's leg, it didn't even injure him, he got up and played the rest of the match. Keane's tackle didn't end Haland's career either, that was due to an injury Haland was already carrying, which Keane's tackle had no effect on, a fact Haland confirmed in his own autobiography... 19. Why not just create a Singles thread to start off with gertie, to guage whether it would indeed be popular enough to warrant it's own section...
  20. Sidmouth? I told the driver the first pick up was Sydenham!...
  21. The winner of the EDF Champions League trophy for 2013/14 is maxxi! Sorry for the delay, can't find a decent engraver these days for love nor money. The good news is that the Council have agreed to an open bus top parade up the Lane, weather permitting...
  22. About time. I knew once he put his 'driver' away he'd be back in business...
