  1. And Mars bars were bigger too. What was that as a % of your take home salary, and how does that stack up with today's prices/salary?..
  2. Hammerettes, you do realise that by winning last night it's given BFW a stay of execution...

  4. If Spurs insist on having a Tecnical Director, I think Hoddle would be better suited to that role rather than manager. The TD seems to have more say on which players are bought/sold anyway. Agree with PD that Levy gets away scot free. He's the guy who's been hiring all these managers in the first place, surely that shows poor judgement on his part. It will be interesting to see what formation Spurs play tonight. The high backline/pressing game only works if you've got quick defenders and a settled back four. Southampton have used it well early season, but it's a high tempo system, and with their limited squad I think it's now physically catching up with them, other clubs are also now working out how to play against it...
  5. It's all been a big mistake... http://i2.mirror.co.uk/incoming/article2931395.ece/ALTERNATES/s615/Screen-Shot-2013-12-15-at-19-2931395.jpg
  6. Let's play darts!...
  7. I'll let you know if we need a new doorman EP. Some interesting names popping up as a potential new Spurs manager...Klinsmann would be very popular, but World Cup in the way. Keeping it Teutonic, how about Herr Klopp, Spurs Heavy Metal against the Arsenal Orchestra. Or back to the future, In Hod we Trust?...
  8. Laudrup is the best candidate on that list but he would need time, something AVB wasn't given...
  9. I was replying to BR's post Quids, there would've been a few expletives otherwise... ;-)
  10. The Moonster is pulling away. Think we need to start up an pro-meat-eating thread PDQ...
  11. Week 15 table...
  12. Week 15 points...
  13. No way, we're a football club, not a project...
  14. From the Beeb... The early names being linked with replacing the Portuguese include current Russia boss and former England manager Fabio Capello, ex-Chelsea boss Roberto Di Matteo, Swansea boss Michael Laudrup and Tottenham's current technical director Franco Baldini. Baldini is a surprise, it was him that bought in Lamela!..
  15. I bet Manuel is kicking himself he didn't do his maths homework...
  16. No surprise, did you not see Levy giving him the evil stare?... http://attherails.files.wordpress.com/2011/02/daniel_levy.jpg?w=300&h=180
  17. What are all these recent nominations for? Best thread, worst thread, funniest thread??? *To be read in a schoolteacherish ''I'm very cross'' manner...
  18. Liverpool not being in Europe and getting knocked out of the League Cup early, has probably helped their league form, especially as they haven't got a lot of quality outside their first 11. Injuries and suspensions come into play this time of year, so I expect their form will drop a little in the coming weeks. From a personal point of view a draw would be good but I think Spurs will nick it. I've never liked the Saturday early doors games, especially if it's a big crucial game like City v Arsenal. It's never a decent atmosphere, most fans probably still hungover. Not sure for whose benefit it's on at that time. Certainly not the away fans. I don't think BT even benefit, surely their advertising revenue would be greater if the game was played in the afternoon/evening. I'm liking Sky's Saturday 5-30pm game though, perfect post-Saturday chores and pre-Saturday scoff and beers. City to put down a marker and win by at least 2 goals...
  19. Bit of a gap opening up at the top, which is a worry. Not getting enough correct scores is letting me down...
  20. Week 15 fixtures... Saturday 14th December 2013 Man City V Arsenal Cardiff V West Brom Chelsea V Crystal Palace Everton V Fulham Newcastle V Southampton West Ham V Sunderland Hull V Stoke Sunday 15th December 2013 Aston Villa V Man Utd Norwich V Swansea Tottenham V Liverpool
  21. Welcome to the club Mick. Check out the radio stations, next summer warm up to the World Cup by tuning into some authentic downtown Rio samba...
  22. Otta Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > And he needs to give Rio a verbal slap and tell > him that it's up to him when he picks his team. Agree with the slap, but also agree with what Rio said, as I would've thought most players want time to get psyched up before a game. BR, you need to calm down, you're going to do yourself a mischief...

StraferJack Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > There is a muddled/vague feeling to both his > tactics and interviews so far at utd. i wonder if > players feel the same in meetings Agree, he even dithered over Fellaini. Why buy a player for their release clause when you can wait and pay an extra ?3-4m? Interesting that Rio openly complained about Moyes' last minute team selection. The more I think about it, the more there are lots of little things that have all added up to the perfect storm...better batten down the hatches!
  24. Surely this comes down to whether a manager is good enough or not, not because the previous manager is sitting in the stand. Sir Matt was still around in Fergie's early years, he was there the night we won our first PL title. Moyes needs to start acting like he belongs at the club, to keep referring to the club in the third person doesn't help. He also needs to cut out the negativity and excuses...transitional period, tough fixture list, injuries etc...all part and parcel of the game. He could do with showing some 'power and control'. After the Newcastle game he admitted his plan was to take RVP off after 60mins, but he didn't because he thought he would be accused of ''you don't know what you're doing''. Really? It's alright being honest, but not when it shows you up to bowing down to external pressures, thus weakening your own authority. When he was appointed I couldn't decide whether he was a good choice or not. I still can't. He should be given time but I'm losing confidence that he'll use it wisely...
  25. Do you mean the bit about Fergie still wanting power and control?..
