  1. Agreed DaveR. You only have to look at the large family houses on roads like Barry Road, either side of Goose Green, Peckham Rye, the whole Marmora - Mundania Rd enclaves, CPR, Over/Underhill Roads, even parts of Lordship Lane etc etc, to know that ED was never an exclusive working class area...

  3. To be fair, maxxi has been fairly quiet in general since absconding to Vienna. I reckon I post more when Utd lose or, like tonight, when I've had to endure another fooking bore draw. LVG has managed to clone Ray Wilkins...9 fooking times. Only De Gea and Martial play on the front foot...I despair
  4. I think those who took out tracker BTL mortgages pre-credit crunch have done well on rental profit, but I agree, most are relying on a rise in equity to form a pension pot...
  5. That's a fairer target. Most people with property as a substitute for a pension aren't high rollers like foreign investors, it will hit them hard. So much for Tory entrepreneurial spirit...

I'd hazard a guess that a large % of that 78% only have a 2nd property as an alternative to (or to 'top-up') an existing poorly performing pension. In effect, trying to be less dependent on the state pension when they retire...
  7. :) Yep, I certainly wouldn't swap...
  8. For all the 'shift workers' out there...
  9. Week 14 fixtures... Saturday 28th November 2015 Aston Villa v Watford Bournemouth v Everton Crystal Palace v Newcastle Man City v Southampton Sunderland v Stoke Leicester v Man Utd Sunday 29th November 2015 Tottenham v Chelsea West Ham v West Brom Liverpool v Swansea Norwich v Arsenal

  11. Crazy thing is, we could go top if we beat Leicester...
  12. Striker James Wilson loaned to Brighton. So let's tally that up since the summer... Hernandez - Sold RvP - Sold Henriquez - Sold Januzaj - Loaned Wilson - Loaned Which leaves Rooney & Martial - Currently 5 league goals...Grrrr!!!!!
  13. Parkdrive Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Isn't LVG a respected manager then? Yep, I'm saying he is respected, especially abroad, which is important if you want to attract good foreign players. Moyes didn't have that presence, basically the club was too big for him and ate him alive. You'll have the same problem when Wenger retires, big boots to fill...
  14. No spoof, just deemed too close to the bone for TV...http://blog.paddypower.com/2015/11/25/knock-one-out-in-you-pocket-paddy-powers-latest-ad-highlihgts-the-joy-of-a-cheeky-trouser-jostle/
  15. Indeed Jah. I don't think it was lost on Utd fans that on a night when we were commemorating IMO the best player to ever wear a Utd shirt, that we should put on such an inept, uninspired, lacklustre performance, bereft of any pace, skill, daring, bravery, imagination, all things you would associate with Georgie. About a year ago LVG was asked about this so-called philosophy of his. He mentioned that players had to learn their role on the pitch, that they were only allowed to play in certain areas, do certain things with the ball. Over time this would become automatic, second nature, he didn't want them to think about what they had to do, they just did it. He didn't want them to play with any intuition, nothing off-the-cuff, no free spirit. Well, he's definitely succeeded on that account. So far the fans have accepted or put up with the dross because of the mess he inherited. The club needed a strong character to sort out the deadwood and a respected manager to attract quality players. But unless there are signs of an improvement in the quality of play, the fans' patience won't last forever...
  16. Can't believe it's 10 years. 10 of his best goals...

The blurb I read said the book was set in Clapham, and the TV adaptation is set in Balham/Tooting. I don't think there was any mention of Tooting as such, although there was a shot of Tooting Broadway tube station. SW21 was mentioned, but that doesn't exist. I got the impression it was supposed to be somewhere like the 'toast rack' area betwixt the Commons...
  18. I think this thread will pass over and rise again in the Lounge...
  19. Was that Lou cashing out in her pants again? What have we told you about drinking too much Lambrusco...
  20. Another vote for Lisbon, went mid-Summer, pleasantly warm. Some great beaches nearby if the kids get bored of all the history, culture, architecture, bars, restaurants etc. Amazing coastal golf courses too. Wasn't planned, but visit coincided with a beer festival at the castle which overlooks the city...hic!
  21. It can't be true, there's no mention of a Priness Di conspiracy or the worst snowfall EVER expected this Winter...

  24. Sorry, these articles don't make for good reading. Both reference a test case whereby a claim against a Council was thrown out by the judge... http://www.footanstey.com/updates-a-publications/1079-can-you-sue-building-control-if-they-fail-to-spot-defective-work https://www.rollits.com/news/articles/can-i-sue-the-building-control-officer.aspx
  25. I'd definitely try and draughtproof what you've got if it's an original Victorian 'heavyweight' door. Modern doors are so flimsy in comparison unless you go top spec, top dollar...
