An easy way that you might try is cinnamon on your door way, they will not cross it apparently.

Taxi companies for women in labour?
JBoylen replied to Gooders79's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I used Addison Lee and went up to UCLH, we told them on the phone I was in labour and they didn't seem to mind. This was 2 years ago. -
Indoor activities...suggestions needed
JBoylen replied to dulwichfam's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I second www.theimaginationtree.com. They have some fun ideas and have kept us entertained through some cold days. -
We were in Croatia last year with our 1.5 year old and it was great! Now at 2.5 these suggestions look fabulous, I think I am just craving some sunshine!

Easter Weekend Friday/Monday things to do?
JBoylen replied to JBoylen's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Thanks Fuschia! I don't know why I didn't think of going to a farm! Sunshine today too! -
Whats on tomorrow (Friday) or Monday? Are any of the EDTots listings on? Any events besides the ones listed in the Egg Hunt thread? If nothing is on, any thoughts on what to do? Museum of Childhood? Soft play?

I am very interested, I have a lot of office wear to donate and would love some more casual clothes/dresses. Count me in! What happens to items not taken/bought...do you have a charity that might take them?

Incident at Sainsburys cash machines
JBoylen replied to Jimmyv's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Thank you mattcart, sometimes people (I) have the 'it won't happen to me' attitude until it does. Thank you for the warning and I hope you are ok and your bank helps you with the fraud. -
Little Fingers Montessori Dulwich - feedback please
JBoylen replied to canela's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I have no experience with Little Fingers in Dulwich Hall so I am not answering canela's question either. However since the Barry Road location reviews have been questioned, I will say this: We visited the one on Barry Road last Friday and it looks nice but seems they were still in the process of setting up the interior (some furniture and play things) and they were very up front about it. The staff seemed very nice. I was told children already currently attended, others were starting this week and that there are current openings. While one child was playing/being read to and seemed happy. I hope you do get the feedback on the Dulwich Hall location that you are looking for. -
We will be there, I booked as soon as I saw this thread. My daughter will be 21 months and does not stay still for anything or anyone. I am actually quite looking forward to it all.

Venue for coffee/lunch where toddlers can roam
JBoylen replied to Miles's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Hop Scotch in Honor Oak might be an option if it is not too cold, their outdoor space is rock but good for play, the staff are nice, they have high chairs, drinks, coffee, cakes, etc etc. I love the Dish and think it might be you best bet but I'm trying to think outside of that.. -

Going to the cinema with a baby - etiquette
JBoylen replied to CharDale's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I used to put down a blanket in the aisle and sit on the floor. I suppose it wasn't very fire safe friendly, but no one seemed to care and I would spread out maybe toys/spit cloths on it and snacks/tea for me. Yes, it went in the wash straight after :) At the Plex you cannot go in unless you are with your child so anyone you may feel you are disturbing are in the same boat as you. Go and have fun, I miss it and wish I had gone more. -
Superbowl... Last year a few people tried to get pubs to show it but it did not work out. We do get the via GamePass to get game online, but do not have a large home. If anyone wants to host, we can/will get the game online (can then hook up to a TV)...kid arrangements to be figured out after the fact,,,

I'll be at the 1 o'clock tomorrow. I have an American accent and my daughter is Dorothy, if you hear me calling after her.
