  1. You could try https://www.rocketlawyer.co.uk/pricing.rl - if those don't work out. Not tried it but it will connect you to a relevant lawyer for a free chat and give you access to standard contracts / forms etc.
  2. I'm pretty certain it's bindweed. Which is a pest but not in the same league as knotweed, you'll see it everywhere in the summer - look out for hedges with lots of foliage and large trumpet white flowers. Just treat the leaves with Roundup (spray or get a stick and paint it on the leaves) and then leave it until it dies back (usually within 1 - 2 weeks). http://www.rhs.org.uk/advice/profile?PID=241

  4. Sounds like I should have made the effort. The Chris Bell album 'I am the Cosmos', by the other deceased Big Star-er is worth digging out.

I was tempted but thought it might ruin the records for me, same with Roky Ericson who toured last year I think.

    Great Gigs

Ok going back to late 80's now, but The Triffids are playing the Barbican in April, it's a tribute night with special guests to remember the long gone David McComb, a fine songwriter, and a very good live band during their day. Never been to a tribute style gig before could either be great or awful, we'll see.
  8. I agree, just leave it as is. In a few years any coloured tiles are going to fade, get graffitied, fall off etc. Or what about a Vicar of Dibley style 'stained glass window' affair - ie do nothing, take the cash and give it to the Haiti relief fund.
  9. mockney - are there two Denmark Hill stations? I don't recognise the one you describe and if you think the service for the past few months has been 'good' then I admire your fortitude. and it's not about having a general whinge about public transport, though I agree us Londoners do like to have a moan about these things, but in general do nothing about it. The FCC service issue is really about having better expectations and holding the people responsible to account which I guess is what the First Craptial website is trying to do. I don't think tony's post got off to the best start and talking about censorship is a bit ott but I don't think he deserves all the sarcasm either. though that is the way of the lounge I guees.
  10. Tony is exhibiting all the signs of stress of a regular FCC commuter and I can absolutely sympathise, it's an abysmal service and has been getting worse for the last 4 months, with the service problems only compounded by the bad weather. Perhaps if the original post had mentioned the petition in relation to Denmark hill station it perhaps could have remiained where it was. It's certainly and issue for me and shoudl be an ED issue for anyone who uses the service so I find it a bit petty that it couldn't have stayed in the other section for a bit longer. But then it aint my forum. For anyone who is interested in the issues then it is worth a look at the First Crapital Connect site and consider signing the petition. First Capital Services such as the Denmark to Farringdon route which I use (17 minute journey) should be a welcome addition for ED commuters and it would be a shame if the issue gets lost because of the the way its been posted and then moved by admin.
  11. He and his team have been doing an excellent job in what must be very trying circumstances. I just wished he looked after Denmark Hill and could do something about the utterly abysmal service offered by First Capital Connect. I'll pass on the calendar though!
  12. Have just seen a couple of Fielfare and Red Wing too round about the Abbotsbury Rd area. Five or six goldfinch too.
  13. Has anyone tried driving on Abbotswood / Burrow Road today? it looks like sheet ice (in fact it looks like it did after the snow on Monday night!) I need to drive in the morning but not sure its going to be possible. Thanks
  14. I echo that SteveT, I worked from home today and got to see loads of birds chasing each other around, including Great Tits, Blue Tits, Goldfinches, Sparrows, Blackbirds and Wood Pigeons. Robins and Great Tits definetly the bosses!
  15. "clog the road with gritters" - are you just trying to contrary? What a silly thing to say.
