  1. According to my older sisters I would call the dog during stew eating times, and then tip it over the animals head, it was a cocker spaniel and so it was able to lick the gravy off it's ears. I was set a place at the table and I messed about with the meal and was taken back to the high chair for a couple of days which I was furious about, but I never messed around again.
  2. Jays look rather like chaffinches on steroids.
  3. When I was a lad this style jacket would be termed a 'bum-freezer'.

  5. It's above freezing today and Sunday feels not exactly tropical, but a marked improvement on recent temperatures. Hooray!
  6. Fieldfares today and blue tits, great tits robins and blackbirds. The starlings and the sparrows were eating some ciabatta that went wrong in the baking or proving, its been out there a week.
  7. They may be dealing....................
  8. It had probably arrived through the letter box already opened............
  9. They generally find where the best pickings are, and lay seige to it.
  10. I have a dozen or so redwings pecking at everything that looks like food in the garden, they are similar to a thrush but with an orangey red flash along the side.
  11. When I heard that Rossy and Norton and Madonna were on vast salaries, I thought it was about time the Beeb was turned upside down and shaken, just to see what would fall out of it's pockets. They are financed heavily via the extortionate licence fee and yet produce relatively few programmes. The money goes into the wrong pockets, not into the coffers of the talented.
  12. I have been prescribed it on 3 seperate occasions for back pain.....it was useless and failed each time.
  13. Getting a bus pass at 60!
  14. Tyson was the shortest heavyweight champion I remember, 5 feet 10 inches. If you have knock-out drops in both hands, and tall enough to reach the chin, that's all thats needed. Anyone know of a shorter one?
  15. I wont miss rossy or the irritating norton, or evans, who is taking over wogans radio 2 slot but starting at seven am. Damn! Where have all the good guys gone?
  16. A snow-blinded streaker?
  17. Received a Christmas cake with nuts and apricots on the top a Sainsbugs production and it was foul, so I broke it up and threw it out for the birds, and amongst all the snow covering one would think they would be hungry enough to eat the festive food. Not a chance, they left it alone until our local reynard scoffed some and took the remainder to cache it near by. I guess Sainsbugs should improve their seasonal fayre if it's unable to tempt the starving bird population................
  18. Birthdays!
  19. Impossible to be a good mother and a career woman, as both to do well, are a full-time gig.
  20. Off sick with snow-blindness:)
  21. Not only bad mothers, (though nonexistent would be more accurate), but crap wives too,.......... some people might argue.
  22. The garden is like a battleground with three blackbirds hopping after each other trying to claim the best part. The robins are chasing the sparrows away from their food, and the great tits are defending the nut feeder from the sparrows. 12 inches of snow predicted or 30cm that should change the landscape, and it will be sooooooo quiet.
  23. Early sixties I believe.
  24. Mockney piers wrote:- Four MPs have broke the law and are being charged and may well go to prison, I too hope so. It's not nearly enough!
  25. You might well be justified too KidKruger but the drug donkey Akmal Shaikh didn't, he lived in Poland and other places where they needed copious amounts of 'smack'! Sorry but I have no sympathy for him or any others dealing in it, and I do not care what other poster's may think of my right wing Daily Mail reader's attitude. He was caught 'at it' in a strict regime and whoever is caught doing it there, gets it. My wish is that we would treat our 400+ MPs for their 'misbehaviour' in a position of trust to at least a flogging and a few years of hard labour! See if that is not a deterrant!
