  1. This lot are good, just at the Peckham Rye end of Rye Lane http://www.glassinlondon.co.uk/
  2. OP is looking for 3 people - one who did it on a budget, one who did it on around ?2000 and one who did a lavish celebration.
  3. I am with TD, I pour used oil into empty plastic bottles and put it in my bin.
  4. The Ivy House have started doing this on a Friday from 1.00 - 3.00pm.
  5. Apparently Jamie has put in a planning application to convert the whole building not flats. I never understood why it wasn't made to work, I think the biggest problem was the complete lack if food. Even a basket of rolls, pork pies and sausage rolls on the bar would have done. Never understand why all pubs don't do this.
  6. Quite agree with Dulwich Fox - same applies to people who own empty houses that they et go to rack and ruin.
  7. Agree but unfortunately don't have the technical skills.
  8. Agreed - never feel unsafe walking down Rye Lane - just go with the flow people. If you don't like it don't go there but stop decrying it.
  9. Oh yes, all sounds great! May even bring back some happy memories of when Meatwagon were at The Rye...definitely looking forward to the 'pub not restaurant' feel. Welcome! @peckhamryeeats
  10. I share your pain - the last post on that thread was mine!
  11. Sorry, irony blocker was switched on - was only trying to share info... *retires back to SE15*
  12. HonaloochiefB - got the info confirmed from their Twitter account, as boswell says they are already in - and advertising for sale the pizza ovens...oink ;)
  13. Flying Pig, new beer and BBQ place, moving in there.
  14. The new Beer and BBQ restaurant Flying Pig are moving in.
  15. That's all it says on their Twitter feed. @peckhamryeeats
  16. Well said Mugglesworth - can't believe how much flack the Ivy House people are getting when they are doing everything they can to keep people informed. Anyone would think some people don't want it to succeed....
  17. Get on Twitter and hook up with Band of Bakers - lots of amateur and semi-pro bakers there, some provide cakes for Anderson & Co on Bellenden Road to sell - will probably have good ideas. Also Ellie's Bakehouse. Twitter foodie scene in SE London is very big. @peckhamryeeats
  18. The Ivy house would never have secured the finance to purchase the building if they couldn't have presented a viable business plan. So let's just wait and see - all good luck to them , I don't care if I never get a dividend, all I want is to see a community pub staying in the community - with good beer!!!! The Old Nunshead are completely independent and are making a great go of it, no reason why Ivy House shouldn't.
