Can anyone recommend a good roofing company?
Calsug replied to Ali1234's topic in Request a Tradesperson
Seconded for Russell, excellent guy and will always try to solve a problem reasonably. -
Are houses selling around here at all?
Calsug replied to James's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Not wanting to preach KFH but would also add their follow up after we accepted the offer was exceptional, we had a difficult chain with quite a few delays and was basically on the phone to them a few times a day at one point, with them calling all solicitors and agents in the chain on a regular basis. In a jittery market that we are in the under offer is just the beginning and whoever you go for make sure that their follow up is equally as good. -

Can't say that happened to me and we sold our house with them recently. But it was with the Peckham branch so maybe differs from office to office? fishbiscuits Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > KFH - seriously overvalue properties in order to > get it on their books. 2 weeks before the end of > the exclusive agent period, they lower the price. > I really hate that tactic. Have sold two houses with KFH and reckon in this market they are the right people for the job as in my opinion they are pretty proactive Wouldnt recommend Winkworth - lost 6 months of time with them, messed up viewings, showing people who weren?t right people for house etc... -
Anyone having problems with Virgin Media today?
Calsug replied to ribrob's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I am sure they throttle back existing passive customers to maximise how many people they can sign up and also give new customers or unhappy customers better speeds...Over the phone they are able to increase your connection performance when you complain within a few minutes -

Fantastic news! I'm not going back to Virgin Media for other reasons but yep strongly recommend everyone either vote with their feet or at the very least try and get some money off them as their prices are totally crazy for the service we are getting here Mrs Y Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Thank you Calsug, got a new deal, ?40.00 cheaper > and Wifi speed upgraded to 350 (what ever that > means) -
Anyone having problems with Virgin Media today?
Calsug replied to ribrob's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Cancelled my Virgin media contract today and was the best thing I have ever done, after months of "super high speed" broadband finally had enough Then got the call from the loyalty team trying to bring my back with a 50 pound credit to my bill, all new kit and a fixed price with 30 pounds off per month for 18 months - after having my bills increased quite a few times over the last few years I said maybe they should have been proactive and offered money off before I left especially as they know there is a general problem in the area instead of the only giving refunds if your internet is down for 24 hours solid nonsense. If you really want to get money off though and think Virgin is still OK, cancel you contract and wait for the call -
To be honest its not a sign that would solve it but the parents telling their children not to climb up them! eczema remedies - foods to eat/avoid/ juice fast??
Calsug replied to Minitoots's topic in The Lounge
My wife has eczema and she was told to avoid cows dairy, wheat and sugar where possible We have switched to goats milk and minimise the amount of wheat and sugar we eat and it has definitely made a difference Other than that you need to make sure the soaps and shampoo you are using are not irritating your skin so need to use something like Aveeno oat wash and moisturise with Cetraban after showering / having a bath That said if you are having a bad flare up then steroids are often seen as a way to try and "reset" things -

Definitely the prices have come off from last year, but houses are selling if they are priced to take this into account. -
New Flats At ED Station - Be Warned! (it has a "veneer")

Now turning this into a recommendation for Turners, picked up my car this morning, did the MOT in the afternoon and returned it afterwards - fantastic customer service and very happy to help me out with my tricky request of not being able to get the car to them during the week

Tiler needed- metro kitchen tiles
Calsug replied to gracie_roberts's topic in Request a Tradesperson
Would recommend Matthew Hanson and his team they did our bathroom with metro tiles and did a great job Make sure any tiler sees the tiles first though, depending on the size of the tiles they might try to charge more... -
Actually just called Turners, they are able to pick my car up for me this week which is very helpful!

Just read some reviews of the Dulwich Kwik Fit - doesn't look overly appealing

Unfortunately Turners are closed at the weekend otherwise they would be perfect as closest to my house Catford Hill seems next best, anyone got any other reviews on them? Jeez some people need to get a grip, I went there off the back of reading this thread and hearing it was good. My wife and I go out very rarely these days and wanted to try something new that was a bit different As Alice said it?s also about supporting a new local business P.s also asked for a table away from the window as don?t like people watching me eat as they walk by...
-
Went there this weekend and it was fantastic. 2 side plates, a whole fish and two sides and was perfect for 2 hungry people. Only one thing that would be good is if they de-boned the fish for you after it arrived as some fish places do. Apart from that staff very knowledgeable and the wine reasonably priced. Will definitely go back again Calsug
