I don't see the OP making any mention of baseball bats, zero tolerance, aggression, racial confrontation etc... Standing as a diverse community to deter vandalism, does not have to be some kind of loutish, aggressive, vigilante action. This is where we live, these are our shops. To stand meekly by, and allow ourselves to be intimidated by gangs of unruly children is just absurd. These kids believe they can operate with impunity, they expect to meet zero resistance. The situation is perverse - and for the most part we are all culpable. Not wanting to get involved, not wanting to draw attention or become a victim... it's disgusting, and I consider myself as guilty as most.

MW2 was SO disappointing. Having been blown away by the first MW, and having had the second on order for months pre release, I was pretty shocked at the lack of progress. Rubbish, living on the brand. Battlefield Bad Company 2 utterly sh*ts on it. While the MW series staggers on with it's old graphics engine, Battlefield 3 is totally fresh. I defy anyone to watch this trailer and not gasp with unbridled awe.

Is anyone here on ps3 or are you all xbox?

Are you talking about the old or the new Dead Space? I've, only played the first - it was genuinely unnerving, but then a little repetitive and I lost interest. Having said that, I do have a remarkably short attention span.... I've been playing Red Dead Redemption lately, quite late to the party. I'm quite underwhelmed by the whole experience. Maybe I'm missing something??

thanks for the tips!

Does anyone have any recommendations for public tennis courts in the area? I know there are plenty listed, but it would be useful to know which are well surfaced/well maintained, and maybe even have floodlights? Thanks.

Not strictly thur place but... I have a few PS3 games that I don't play anymore and was wondering if anyone would like to swap a few? Swap fairness could be based roughly on Amazon used prices, or I could sell them if nobody's interested in swapping (assuming someone's interested in buying...) Let me know! Offered: Vanquish Modern Warfare 2 Killzone 2 Dragon Age: origins Fallout 3 Little Big Planet Bioshock 2 Wanted Red Dead Redemption Demon's Souls Assassin's Creed Brotherhood Mass Effect 2

Possibly a dumb question, but... how do you steal cable that's under the ground?

BT Service (problems with BT 'phone lines this morning)

Our phone line is dead as well.... will call BT. -
I really enjoyed the first two Assassin's Creed titles. Great open World feel, although a tad repetitive. The latest has had really good reviews, so I'm sure they've taken it up a few notches. The scenery has always been quite stunning. Might grab that next, although I still haven't got round to Red Dead yet, which is ridiculous. I've been playing Vanquish. Which is really good fun - if you're dumb enough to like running around with big fat awesome weapons, shooting baddie robots etc. Which I do!

DipDap was knocked off his or her bike and is asking if there were any witness'. Other than a few kind words of sympathy can't it be left at that? Does every possible aspect of the post have to be debated and the minutiae picked over obsessively? Too many unsolicited, and not particularly helpful, opinions. (Mine being the most recent.) DipDap, I was knocked off my bicycle a while back and was similarly shocked. I wish you a speedy recovery!

I live in Melbourne Grove and, for the sake of convenience, we struggled on with that place for years. We finally moved to DMC about a year ago. I wish we hadn't waited so long. It's not that DMC is utterly amazing, although I think it is really good, it's just that Melbourne Grove was bad beyond belief. I would advise anyone at Melbourne Grove to move immediately. The difference will, literally, astound you. So I guess the take home message of this presentation is...

We have some bi-fold doors from Magnet. I wouldn't generally choose Magnet as a supplier of choice for anything, but our builder suggested them, and having been down to the Old Kent Road showroom to check them out, we decided to go ahead. A friend of mine chose them as well for their kitchen, and she's an interior designer working for Norman Foster no less (oooh!). Worth checking out, unless you are going for a far smarter, more design lead, much more expensive option.

It's all about Nam this evening, surely? Some heavy shit going down (bfbc2 Vietnam released), smoked some bad grass, smoked some Gooks etc. Played as a, so called 'Gook' and got smoked. Having said that, I had an absolutely fantastic meal at Song Que recently. So it all turned out well I suppose....

ruth, that was a lovely post. a couple of times recently my husband has actually ranted about having no clean socks. initially i thought he was joking, but no, it was for real. i put this down to moments of madness on his part as he's actually also very unexpectedly decided to be a SAHD :)) - still, it was very disturbing at the time. the impact on us of having children has however made me think about how i want to bring up my 2.5 year old son, and i have in recent months been teaching him to put away his dirty dishes, wipe down his table and generally tidy up after himself. it's a hard slog as i think my boy is an alpha male at heart, but i genuinely already feel an enormous duty to the future mother of his children so will not let him off the hook. Poor chap. -
Poo (ok, sorry, I'm boring myself now, no more with the 'Poo'. Last one.)
