I hope Cinders and the ugly sisters doesn't affect East Dulwich.

Do we have more trains now running in the morning rush hour? E.G: is the 8.08am running again (from ED)?

Watch out parcel thief!

They were left outside... And could have been from any source.(Amazon was a generic term for online deliveries). I don't think the delivery people really care.... As my doorbell frequently rings for the wrong house no. address. .. Including Deliveroo. (generic term again). One night I might accept the food and tuck in. -
Watch out parcel thief!

A few weeks ago, my downstairs neighbour had several amazon parcels delivered in 1 week. This neighbour was absent, and didn't consider the security angle of attracting parcel thieves, or burglars to an unattended property....which could have included my flat above. I received no thanks for bringing the parcels into the communal hallway. Unbelievably ignorant and rude. -
Does anyone know if the Palmerston is opening on 12th?
-
Must be the Victorian drains. Better ventilation would be a cheap way to keep customers happier.
-
I would post a discrete letter through letter box of Castle. I'm sure the managers would act.

*Cherry Tree... and with new ownership it has turned itself around.
-
Yes it probably has.
-
Agreed - I would like to have a straight forward pub. I think the Cherry Tree would be a good role to copy - imho. Decent food + drinks selection. (definitely popular with couples, families and groups of friends) Cheery bar staff. Decent background music. Sport is popular in there - but doesn't dominate the atmosphere. (subtle TV locations to keep everyone happy). Decent decor. (too gloomy and furniture too dark and samey = no character). This is not rocket science - and the current owners/managers - should almost be embarrassed with what's on offer. The Plough could be a gold mine - in its relatively stand alone location, & there's time to fix faults before 17th May. I am available for consultation by the owners.

KIDK.. How was the onion gravy?
-
The comedienne prob made a joke about bad bar staff.
-
I had heard rumours of poor food quality and long wait times. Totally inexcusable. KIDK.. Did you mean *inedible food? How was the onion gravy btw?
-
Did they serve sausages made of potatoes and they mashed the sausages? The pub reminds me of how the Phoenix slowly died... But has recently risen again due to enthusiastic staff & decent music. Does anyone know what pub Co. owns the Plough?
-
I have given them 10 yrs of chances. It has slowly got worse. When we are drinking inside pubs again..e.g:Autumn and Winter 2021..it'll be tumbleweed again. I am frustrated like anyone else. 1) Redecorate...it's too gloomy inside. 2) Play decent music out of the loudspeakers..that can be heard without a hearing aid. 3) Cheery staff. Simple.

Unfortunately I think this pub has been slowly dying over the last few years. It is too dark on the inside and service is generally poor. Customers have voted with their feet and don't return. It happens for a reason.

I don't think the Plough will cause too much noise, as it simply isn't very popular anymore... Even allowing for garden improvements. April evening drinking won't be too appealing. I hope they have a refurb inside to bring back customers in the long term.

How do I join the road WhatsApp group? (lucky my kettle had water in it this morning , otherwise I'd be very angry) -
Yes I saw him one morning cycling over London Bridge. He's a man of the people.
