  1. To the Council's credit. I reported the tree via their Web Site sometime just after 07.30 & it was cut up, chipped & gone by 10.30 Now my report may not have been the first .... but even if it was reported earlier, say 06.00 .... i think that's a decent response time. Don't suppose Southwark is awash with idle Lumberjacks is it .....
  2. The circumstantial evidence is growing .........
  3. It's in this weeks issue. There are red, blue, green & yellow.
  4. If you like his work? (Simply drawn, engaging, stick people) oft seen around London Town... (attached) there are 4 different colour prints being given away free with the Big Issue. Could be a ruse to get you to buy 4 copies????? Who cares .... well worth the money anyway & now with added free Art! Go on ... remember that combination, open that wallet & invest!

    Horse meat

Whenever there are two products that look the same & one is expensive & one is not ... there is the risk of substitution or forgery. This rule applies to everything. From clothing, handbags & trainers, through DVDs & now, clearly, into food. When a whole horse is able to be purchased in Country A, for a pittance, but once butchered now looks similar to beef, that will sell for many hundreds in Country B ..... there is an obvious mismatch in value & an easy profit opportunity for the unscrupulous. Which it would seem has been being taken. We have been tolerating & even joking about dodgy or knock off products in branded clothing, for many many years. Are we really now surprised that the same thing is happening in food. A month ago we all thought that our food supply & regulation mechanism was in good order & keeping us safe. This morning on the Radio it was described as dis-functional & hopeless & it didn't get that bad in a month! It's obviously been in a state for ages ... we just didn't know. There are clever criminals & lax officials ... we seem to be in a place where the two have crossed swords & for various reasons the criminals have won. I bet any quality butcher with provenance of it's meat & a photo of a cow ... will be very busy over the next few weeks & months. Unfortunately I predict a sharp rise in prices for this sort of "trustworthy" meat. With corresponding bins full of now worthless ?1.00 ready meals.
  6. I wondered where the ED Police Horses went too. Now we know .... into all those unfeasibly cheap burgers, meat balls & ready meals. If the Police Station did became a supermarket .... it would be like closing the circle. Very Zen. Very ED.
  7. "who gives a damn whether you live in SE22 or SE15" Your Insurance Company?
  8. If it's just an "overground experience" that is required, rather than actually using it to go go anywhere .... why not get on a normal train at ED (no steps) & change to the train of your desire at PR? Same platform & rarely a wait of more than 15 Min's. Dalston or Clapham await .....
  9. If you are so lazy & knuckle dragging that you can't get out of your car to pee ....... what chance is there that you will have the brains to get out of the car to fly tip your piss into somebody else's bin??? I'm completely unconvinced by the theory that all this is attention seeking or planned ..... I fear we simply have an anti social arse-hole in our midst.
  10. http://www.standard.co.uk/news/transport/heathrow-sets-flightpaths-for-early-morning-planes-8381177.html Saw this on the EStandard site. Maybe a little early morning respite is on the cards? No maps to help determine exactly where the zones will be .... but fingers crossed.
  11. We did have a door to door rep last eve. (Worlingham) But his ID was in order, he was from Love Film trying to drum up business for the postal DVD loan scheme. Pleasant chap doing a pretty tedious job ... guessing 90% turn down rate? Pretty soul destroying i would think.
  12. Within six months. That's excellent. Good news thats it's such a top priority.
  13. Yep. As you enter the road from Crawthrew, you have two no entry signs in front of you, so you have to turn right & on each side of the road are clear signs that it is a one way street. There is nothing to hint that a bike may be coming towards you. Is that normal? A one way street in which two way traffic is legal. Seems odd.
  14. The people who could & maybe should care about this, the safety of the community & road users in general .... just don't. They are not accountable, have nothing to fear if somebody else is hurt .... so it actually matters not to them that the situation is dangerous. There will be weasel words of sympathy, excellent explanations & hand wringing ..... all to no avail. As nothing is being done. But what actually we have is power without accountability. A very dangerous combination & one that often leads, as in this case, to inactivity, lethargy & inertia. In a normal business, somebody who dilly'd & dallied & procrastinated like this would be sacked, in short order & somebody with skill, ability & who had a sense of duty would be appointed.
