'wanted:plumber' AGAIN! isn't it annoying???!
SeanMacGabhann replied to millsa's topic in The Lounge
I'm leaning more towards you millsa I reckon if someone is savvy enough to come across the forum, register, use the email client to confirm registration etc then they are savvy enough to do a quick search out of politeness. As strawbs points out it isn't always possible (or desirable) but the sheer volume in the wanted section suggets people aren't even trying. And that's a teeny bit rude in my book Plus it cripples the wanted section in it's current form, with posts disappearing before anyone can read them -
yeah, the advertising for me LastFM on the iPod/phone is used by me waaay more than the PC version - it really "fits"

I'm a day early with this one but with hordes descending on MacGabhann towers may not be online tomorrow so - Happy Birthday (tomorrow!) to OutofFocus - The Robert Capa of the Forum

Is it true? (message from Admin) (Lounged)
SeanMacGabhann replied to halal_face's topic in The Lounge
candj - wow, a lovely post. Shame it will be lost on trolls, simply because of their very nature... -
But this is a nonsense surely? Every single one of us has responsibilities - which by definition means we should and should not do certain things? Even to be aware of Administrators terms of use of the forum means we are aware we should do certain things? as for Is there another meaning I am overlooking?

With your comments on this thread? Not really no How is it contradictory? And why is it rubbish? Are you saying that conversation is when 2 people with no desire to listen to the other viewpoint is a better definition?

" YOU ALL NEED TO GET A FC*KING LIFE FOR GODS SAKE.....if you tossers could read your posts about dogs, you'd see what I mean. The dogs that I love, the Westies, Parsons, Cairns and the like are wasted on you blithing driveling fools. Who fcuking well cares if an Alsatian knawed you as a young boy, be grateful and get over it. Dogs act as a result of how their owners treat them. Rocket science it aint." I'm PRETTY sure that constitutes grounds for reporting, containing as it does at least several of the following "false and/or defamatory, inaccurate, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, threatening" But don't think my dislike is reserved for dogs. As you rightly point out dogs behave depending on how their owners treat them. So my bile is also aimed at said owners. I'm especially wary of owners who think "who cares" if a dog attacks and that I should be grateful? Grateful for what exactly? That my injuries could have been worse? On a final note, behavioral psychology is a lot harder than rocket science.

So you can consistently mis-interpret me, rephrase what I said, then claim that I am at fault but you are telling me not to bother "proving you wrong"? I am not grumbling Kel, but nor am I beating around the bush like you appear to be. If you have a point spit it out

Why do you say "nobody" when as ted Max points out at least 3 people did. And when you say "says a lot" what does it say specifically?

Judging by the posts you have made so far halal_face, you appear have joined with an agenda If you see anything racist, use the "report this message" link underneath the offending message. Administrator takes a dim view of racism (see his terms of use below) You have thrown some serious allegations out, right off the bat. Do you think the people who have been banned may have been banned for using racist language? FORUM TERMS OF USE Having said that, please don't post anything that you know is wrong, by all means, for example if you have had a bad experience with a local company or service, please tell us all about it, but do not post anything which is knowingly false and/or defamatory, inaccurate, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, threatening or illegal. If you post something on here you are liable for its consequences. Postings should where possible be based on fact, made in good faith, published without malice and of interest to East Dulwich. The management reserves the right to act as they see appropriate in order to deal with these and other situations and this includes the fact that (highlighted for emphasis) The management reserves the right to refuse entry. -

What to wear? (to ED pubs on St Patricks Day)
SeanMacGabhann replied to Marmora Man's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
And what would be wrong with that ? Why do there things have nothing to do with you ? You have no irish or american friends ? I think your vibe might have something to do with why st georges day is not viewed as such a fixture on the party calendar -

Why would that annoy you? -

It's only in recent years that enough English people have woken up to St George - enough to warrant a party anyway. Before then most of the English people I knew could barely tell you when it was. And by the time they had cottoned on, they found that the far right had appropriated it. But I'm pretty sure the last couple of years have seen as many St Georges day parties in pubs without anyone calling them a racist so a squeak of Littlejohn martyrdom is not helping the cause I would say But as I said earlier.. why anyone wants to drape themselves around a flag (of any country) anyway beats me. And the more someone wants to the more I back away -

if there is money in it, they will have them I'm pretty sure I have seen St Georges day in at least a couple of the pubs along the lane in previous years Me, I keep well away from any "theme" days if at all possible - especially nationalistic ones -
looking at that link it would appear that it's not a picture but an embedded video (if you mean the larger of the pics?) But Hey - if anyone wants to see what Red Devil is trying to show...

even I laugh about it now - but some of the looks I was getting...

what browser are you using? I'm using Internet Explorer (because I'm at work and I have to!) and if I right click on an image location I get an option to "Copy Shortcut" If you have opened the actual image itself in the browser (eg clicked on an image and it has opened up the full picture) then the address in the address bar will probably end with .jpg - you can just copy that whole address as text (if that makes sense!)

Quoting previous posts is easy enough See the quotation marks next to the Smiley face juuust above where you type a reply? Click on that and paste the quote into it Images depends - if it's already on the web, copy the link location (right click on the image). then click on the icon 3 to the left of the quotes - should look like a postcard with a mountain and a sun? - and post the link in to that

I can't find mention on their website - but I believe it's Blood Simple Fargoe Lebowski O Brother As a pomade kinda guy myself, I'm also a fan of O Brother.... -
" we the tax payers " I'm one - and I support the litter task force. Litter is a completely different problem to crime and bullying. Litter is easily dealt with. Crime and bullying less so and MUCH more expensive. I don't want to live in a tip while the bigger problems get sorted Using "this economic climate" and "money is tight" should not be an excuse. Dear God if I worked for a council I would be so fed up with damned if you do and damned if you don't attitudes

My 10 year younger brother is a major user of Lynx. When we go out it is one of many factors which makes us appear like an elderly businessman who has paid for a "bit of rough" rent boy sigh
