Quick shout out for Aneto Cafe's delicious homemade sourdough. I picked up a loaf to try it and my whole family loved it. It was gone in under 24 hours. Really excellent bread - get it while you can...

You may have more luck at the start of the new school year as they recruit and train new students over the summer. We had a lovely Goldsmiths student last year, Brockley based during term time. Would definitely recommend as the agency were super easy to deal with and so responsive.

Much excitement - found a large iridescent green rose chafer beetle near Denmark Hill station.

Anyone else seen this? I had always heard rosemary leaf beetles had no natural predators in the UK but I've just seen this spider eating one... Is the spider an alien invader too?

Distraught! Just found about 20 box caterpillars on my very small box hedge (three plants, about 20cm high and 60 long). My son is now keeping them as pets...

Any idea what's delaying the fixing of the leak on East Dulwich Road, just outside the Evans Cycles carpark? It's been going on for weeks now - noticed and reported 3 weeks ago and have just seen (earlier tonight) it's still gushing out and down the gutter.

Have a soft spot for corvids so my confirmation bias will side with BNG and the BTO on this one! ;-) On another note: I am very excited as just got round to checking the bird identifier and realised that the little thrush I saw in Dulwich Park on Tuesday morning was a Redwing! I have never seen one before and thought it was really lovely but didn't realise it's genuinely rare.

Spoon feeding or baby led weaning????

BLW all the way in our house. Gives the baby more control and it's fun to watch how their tastes develop. I'm not against spoon feeding but think it largely goes back to when weaning mostly started early at 4 months. From 6 months babies have generally been able to manage finger foods anyway. -

Aneto on East Dulwich Road do amazing chocolate croissants. Plain ones are great too. Unfortunately they have spoiled me and I'm now always disappointed if I find myself buying pastries outside of ED. -

One way system in peak times would also be helpful - I think this was proposed once before but not sure what the objections were. -
Just wanted to say thank you to the guys in the workshop at Evans who helped our South African visitor with a small part for my brother's bicycle last week - it's not the first time they've helped and it's always appreciated!

Hi all, we haven't seen our lovely neutered boy tabby (mackerel-striped, with white paws and a bit of white round the nose - he's at the top on the attached photo) for nearly 2 days. Unusual for him to be out this long, so please would you keep an eye (and ear - he can meow quite loudly!) out for him and let us know if you find him? He is quite a big cat with quite a long tail. Might be on the Crystal Palace Rd side of Oakhurst Grove, or perhaps The Gardens / Solway Road area or even beyond. We miss him! Thank you for looking. -
