They were courteous, efficient and did not charge a fortune. Maybe it depends on whether you are buying or selling!
  2. We had a rat problem a few weeks back just across the Rye in Nunhead. It got in under the floorboards and chewed through wires and water pipes. I can sympathize with you Rbrtdngl I saw it moving under the kitchen cabinet and it made my flesh crawl. I am always listening out for any sound now and am cautious when opening the kitchen door. The rat was caught and the hole cemented up but the thought doesn't go away quickly.

Why would motorists expect to find cyclists going the wrong way? Am I missing the point of the road signs?
  4. I would happily join the E. Dulwich fox hunt. I lost 2 chickens to a fox, just before new years eve, who killed them and injured two others, one of whom I had to put down the next day as her injuries were so bad. The other chicken which the fox ripped its skin off its neck and other parts of her body has been recovering slowly but is now half of her original size. These chickens are pets and live happily in the garden (or used to.) Foxes are a menace and I speak from personal experience.
  5. there has been a short in a cable in peckham Rye park - just opposite the vets - it caught fire apparently and is being fixed as I write.
  6. Has anyone noticed how slow the traffic now travels along Grove Vale since the road has been upgraded? How can it be right that using Tintagel Cres and Elsie road is now quicker in the morning than using the main road. Does anyone ever do a study on what effect these changes have on roads or do we simply have to live with the consequences of some planner who gets paid to plan?
  7. I wonder if you are talking about 2 different houses one on the corner of Uplands and the other on Acre Drive
  8. Turning right out of barry Rd is difficult too and with Upland Rd closed off Forest hill will soon be a no-go area from ED

(?111,000) Did I miss something here or did the two new crossings cost around ?1/4 million not including moving the tree & BT box?
  10. does the dog live with the chickens? Dont the chickens mind?
  11. One of the reasons this road is used is because it is so difficult to turn right out of Barry Road onto Peckham Rye. Another idea could be to make it one way onto Peckham Rye if traffic really is an issue.
  12. You probably could accelerate up to 20mph but just not stop in time!
  13. if anyone has chickens and is interested I have some Marriages layers pellets with flubanvet worming medication in it - use it for 7 days and get rid of any potential worms. this product has a life span of two months and I have only used half of it but wont really need more for 5 & half months. Willing to sell at cost which is cheaper than the stuff that goes in their water each month. PM me if you would like to know more http://www.marriagefeeds.co.uk/news/farmyard-layers-pellets-with-flubenvet marriages layers pellets with flubanvet
  14. Leagle B - she is still broody - found one chicken trying to lay an egg on top of her the other day! AND she keeps nicking the others eggs to sit on - cheeky! SFH you may want to put them in the house together at bedtime when they arrive(around 7pm at the mo) there will be some adjusting to each other to establish a pecking order (yes this is where the term comes from)but they will get on with each other. For info you can get ex batts food which brings them back to full health - it has more goodness in it. Otherwise Layers pellets. - I get mine in 20KG sacks.
