  1. we could meet somewhere that suits us all and plan a little route, it doesnt have to be epic (i am soooo unfit!) just something to get our cheeks glowing. How about meeting at Dulwich library on a Weds/Thurs?
  2. lets do this mammmmas! Reply to this thread and say what times/days sit you and we will sort something out?? x
  3. Soo it is 2012 and my baby is now 15 months, the Xmas hype and excitement is a distant memory and now BOOM its back to reality. If you are anything like me, you plan lots of activities to get you out of the house and give you some structure but end up feeling exhausted from doing too much. So as of yesterday i am determined to get some strusture into my life and stick to it (well try at least) hopefully this will help me fend of the mummy blues and maybe get slightly fitter??? So my plan is to start getting up earlier and stop watching morning tv, i am planning on doing this by meeting some of you mums by the park gates and going for a few laps and a coffee. This is something i would never do unless i had mums to meet as i am not one for self motivation especially in the morning! So who fancies this on a Wednesday or Thursday? Would love to hear from you mammmmmmas!!!
  4. OK so unfortunately my baby is now far too big to be held in my arms whilst sipping a Latte - he is 16 months old. Can anyone please help in directing me to any cafes that have areas where they can let off some steam and keep out of the way of other paying customers. I know The Florence and Victoria have play rooms which are great but i was just wondering if there are any others in London not just East D/Peckham. Really appreciate any feedback, thanks. 5. Unfortunately it is not cost effective to send your child to nursery for months on end when you do not have money coming in, yes it would be fantastic to be able to afford to spend your time grooming yourself whilst your baby is at nursery but unfortunately not many of us mums have that luxury. The way the creative industry works is not consistent and yes it would be ideal for your child to have a consistent week/month/year but unfortunately it is not possible for us freelance/contract/self employed mothers to have this. As much as we would like. I am not saying that i want dump my child on whoever is free any hour of the day, i would just like the flexibility to not have to send my child to nursery when i am not working and not earning any money. At the moment i am at home on my own, whilst my baby is at nursery costing me ?65. Yes i am using my time wisely. But i would much prefer to be with my baby whilst saving 65 hard earned quid. But i need to keep his 2 day place at the nursery as i don't know when my next contract will arise. The world is not a perfect place and neither is the working fulltime as a mother or working ad hoc days as a mother. It is something we just have to deal with, consistent or not.
  6. I am looking for something to take my 13month old baby to tomorrow, Can anyone let me know if they know of anything happening? Thanks Jennyx

  8. the Florence Pub by Brockwell park, a great play room!!!! x
  9. We are having Mothers Meeting at The Wallace Collection, Wednesday 23rd November - 1pm. If you have not been to The Wallace collection, now is your chance!! It really is a special place, it's location is so central you will be amazed that you have never been before! It really puts Donatella Versaces house to shame! Even if OTT kitsch/chintz is not your thing, there is something here for everyone! Whether you are interested in product/interior/graphic/fashion design or just art ? The Wallace Collection is just something you have to see! And as soon as you do you will not believe you have never visited before, as it is a stones throw away from Oxfords Streets, Selfridges. I have booked a table in the cafe for lunch at 1pm, this is where we will meet. Really looking forward to meeting new and old faces!! If you can drop me a mail and let me know if you are coming that would be fab!!! It all belonged to Sir Francis Wallace and has been open to the public since 1900, with room after grand room containing Louis XIV and XV furnishings and S?vres porcelain, while the galleries are hung with paintings by Titian, Vel?zquez, Fragonard, Gainsborough and Reynolds; Franz Hals's {I}Laughing Cavalier{/I} (neither laughing, nor a Cavalier) is one of the best know, along with Fragonard's {I}The Swing{/I}. The Wallace Collection also holds frequent temporary exhibitions, and regular events include the chance for children to try on armour or explore the Wallace Collection and take part in artist-led workshops." 23. So ladies we have decided that we need to have a lil breathing space from the bubba and check out the new SJP flick. We are predicting it?s going to be totally unrealistic and OTT, but unless we check it out we will never know for sure. We are going to go to Peckham Multiplex on Wednesday 28th September, it starts at 8.30. So we thought it would be a good idea to meet at the pub beforehand for a glass (or 2) of vino. So the itinary looks like this MEET 7.15 ? THE VICTORIA PUB ? 72-79 Choumert Road SE15 4AR CLICK HERE FOR MORE INFO THEN WE WILL HEAD OVER TO THE CINEMA FOR 8.15 FOR MORE CINEMA INFO CLICK HERE If you cannot make the pub no worries we can meet you at the cinema, maybe a good idea to buy your tickets online beforehand.
