It straps onto the chair so it is fairly secure. I don't take it out but it would fit in a back pack/under a buggy. I thought it would get dirty but it has been fine, just sponged off any spills. The cover can be washed if necessary.

My daughter did the same thing wrt not wanting to wear anything in bed. I put a nappy on after she was asleep until she was dry about five months later. Usually, around 11.30pm, there would be a thud as she removed the now wet nappy and hurled it across the room! She was dry for the rest of the night. Incidentally, over the course of about three weeks her nappy became dry all the time. Nothing else changed wrt fluid intake/toileting so I think she was just physiologically ready.

One of these perhaps? Paper "Islands" to jump on between furniture/rooms to avoid shark infested water. Build a den. Wrap up, contrive a long walk to get a magazine and back home to read it. Race to tidy bedrooms! Dressing up race. One child could choose items for the other one to put on. Balloons to bat around? Or blow them up, release and retrieve them - the noise is usually quite entertaining too.

Makes any changes in the night quick and if there are any leaks from the top layer the mattress is still protected.

Warren Evans has a good range of beds. I bought a second hand, full size single low "Deco" bed for my 2yo. It is easy for her to get in/out of and not far to fall.

I had lots of fox poo in my garden. It stopped when I started spraying Scoot fox repellent around the perimeter of the garden.

Similar thing happened to me when my daugher was 3-4 months. Turned out my thyroid had gone haywire. Might be worth getting this check if things don't improve.

An oral antihistamine should help with itching too. Helpful with multiple bites. Piriton or something similar depending on how old your child is.

Hi Victoria, It is worth finding out exactly which tests you had done. The best indicator of whether or not post partum thyroiditis is permanent is thyroid antibody level. This test isn't usually part of the standard thyroid function test but carried out after an intial abnormal result in the standard test. High levels mean the damage is likely to be permanent, in which case treatment is needed life long (me unfortunately). About 2/3 of women with post partum thyroiditis recover after about a year and generally have undetectable levels of antibody. Some of this group may choose to be treated for a short time if their symptoms are severe. As far as I know this doesn't affect what ultimately happens. Sorry to hear about the FB posts. They must be very upsetting for all concerned. If you haven't come accross it already you may find it helpful to read Kay Redfield Jamison's book, "An unquiet mind". She describes her experience of manic depression (her preferred name for bipolar 1) with clarity and insight. She is a professor of clinical psychology. I found it fascinating and deeply moving.
