  1. I think we are getting hurricane Lorenzo according to hurricane pro app I phone, I keeping an eye on it it was currently at 35 mph , judging the 4 day track of it it was 35 mph each day , but if I'm right or wrong the distance looks the same to uk being 4 days so to get here in about a day , must be getting faster papers could be right and the 200 mile radius of it more or less covers the width of uk, but at least we are aware after m.fisher mistake 1987.
  2. if you have hotmail you have to activate the https mode in options. or if you havent when you are in inbox look at the web address it will say http:// www hot.... you need to add the letter S after http so it reads https:// www hotma... which is the unhackable version for hotmail. google mail autamaticaly has this function not sure with ymail you would have to check by adding a letter S as described if it lets you do that you know theres a feature in your back office/ controll pannel someware. hotmail dont do this autamaticaly cause it stops people using some of there most used services, but you can do it by hand if need be. i use to hate spending hours an hours searching and scanning , now all my stuff gets backed up autamatically to a usb stick, and programes run off stick too, any problems press of the button i have re installed windows and virus gaurd in 2 hours,
  3. so do i, it was an edf energy guy, edf is short for something...but as of the other posts it wasnt just our road then, but strangely enough just before that we had a european guy nock the door, my grand mother answered, he claimed he come to fix a car batterie, my nan was non the wiser and come to call me, i came downstairs he was half waiting in the hallway, its a good job my nan was there i politley moved him on.
  4. yeah your right there kford @ "isnt enough sometimes", as of the 7/7 they dont want to get away they die with everyone else, and there not usually known to police, and would probably cost a lot of money to install and service them aswell. cameras you can have them in the front door now and looks exactly like the spy hole you look through. and yes windows especially, wooden kitchen windows, we were nearly a target of crime, they unscrewed the air outlet vent that is fitted in window to let steam out, but we think it was the eastern european builders in garden behind but no proof as they failed to get in and is the only way in.
  5. yeah james barber is cool and an understaning person we find, he must get quite a few emails and phone calls and takes time to sort priorty first, but the only thing missing in dulwich is high street cctv, they have it up town but not in towns such as dulwich.
  6. yeah may of come in handy, no need tho a few neigbours have cctv. but if he was bogus the only thing that could attract him is the mountain bike, which has been moved, or should i wire it up to the mains :O)
  7. I thought i would bring this up, not sure if its there way of working, but there is an edf energy guy driving arround the area in a blue car and edf jacket, and he walked on to our property in basement without permision in meter cupboard, by the time we got to the door he was in another house, we all went up to him and asked whats his purpose he claims routine check up, but thing is we are not with edf, but with british gas, he claims it was a mistake and sorry, "but he didnt even knock" we asked company details , he said edf engery honour ok, but theres no company there, sounds suppicious, i thought anyone like that would have to knock first. i think its time to install cameras these days.
  8. Incase you dont know its on sky news, o2 have a security alert, that evey site you visit on your phone will give them your number displayed, which has lead to a high volume of unwated sales and flyers to your phone. but may have been fixed now. also to add....... theres a sim card called giffgaff they run of 02 network aswell.
  9. Theres numorous ways it can happen, especially free e-mail accounts. as a few already mentioned, 1. you may have clicked some site that is bogus and it will istall a script very quick. 2. it could be someone else email account thats infected and has your contact to jump on, 3. you may have a keylogger installed like a script which will send all your key strokes and login details to the bogus person. which is not good as a key logger will send every site you have a login to. 4. there is spider bot programes about, so if someone knows your email these programes have the whole dictionary in them and will repeatedly input a password and enter it automaticaly, so as mentioned choose a password with numbers aswell as words, lower and upercase. 5. your ip address is inside your email when you mail or join someone, these idiots can use your ip in special software so they can work from your computer. its best to have good security on pc and stick to sites you know are safe, you can get or download mccaffe site advisor , it will warn you about the site in a google search, or if unsure go to the www.whois.com website to get every internet sites address and details, care full of gaming sites there full of bugs. but wouldnt hang about wondering especially if you do online banking, etc. well thats if you have windows, but i hear the mac book dont need virus guards there that good, unless there targeting them now. REGARDS hope you fix it. if it was me, i would re install windows after you backup your data, then install security suite then change all your paswords, just incase you do have a keyloger etc. or go to a computer you knows ok and change quickly.
  10. its posible tho if you didnt open the door, he would of put that can full infront of the door, cause if that can hasnt moved, that may indicate no one in as the owner would move it. ive seen that on tv before. and i think its against the law to walk up a street with alchol now, unless its in a bag. this may seem out of context, just replying to karter
  11. yeah as rahrahrah said , the A2. sometimes you can get caught out at catford tho as mentioned, but depends, i use it a lot, but i cut round honour oak and filter round and miss catford, and come out at the roundabout were world of leather use to be and mc d's is, i think its top tiles now roundabout or actually could be maplin.
  12. yeah i know pete, many times in the garden late at night casually smoking, cant tell if its a cat or fox sometimes when its to dark, could be a lazy one, wall is solid brick a good 9 feet with loads of broken glass on top, very annoying tho the howling when trying to sleep.
  13. There use to be one in dulwich libary park, but got taken away years ago, i know its anoying espesially when some ones init, usually you can just walk into a pub now, as pubs are a public house and you should be allowed. some of them arround tho,but not in dulwich ive seen, but they have a time limit and can open up.
  14. Well its been bugging me how theese foxes are getting in .....well our gardens atleast. I couldnt think how unless they were parachuting in... Finally walking home late last night 2 run away from me, i watched them jump on to the green electric, or phone wire box at the end of road, and then jump on the wall, which made there entrance pretty easy id say. "sometimes theses geen boxes are located at the sides of roads against the side of house's"
  15. Not sure lynn my nan has been here longer than me, and she is spoilt for choice now, maybe they need some sort of reunion to reminisce.......but some certain places are closing like i hear st thomas more hall, that was basically their night club :O)...but prices have shot up in dulwich that could be a problem to who knows.
  16. i know, im illucinating lol... just cant park out side my house for 2 mins these days,:) but they do look like lego men, well just my luck theres no pictures of the lego man from years back on net, that made me sound dumb. it was a cub 90 bike with a big round helmet on him like the old fasioned london to brighton bikes. but he wouldnt LEGO till i moved, is what i ment lol.
  17. sorry misread the question, yes 3 are rubbish i use t mobile and had no problems even in the basment of my house. but think you have to have a good phone with good areil.
  18. i was with them on a dongle modem ?10.00 for 1gb of data, but computer was always getting attacked with trojons, i loged all the ip's of them and they all came from china, "the original owners of the network" also customer service told me to click a box in explorer to delete internet pages on exit, which will cause you to use more data again, the idea is to make the page load faster next time you visit. it was actually leading to 30 pound a month, its ok for emails but when i skype to the usa amd spain it ate all my data. im with a company and i pay 4.99 amonth for 10 gb through the landline. but you could have it free if you pick up btzone on wifi, but you will have to know someone with bt broadband and share there pass key, if a few of you chiped in for the connection and share the cost you could get unlimited for a few pound a month each. and any ware you travel.
  19. make a new topic "ANY SCOTISH MEN IN EAST DULWICH "NEED HELP" then type what you want....... :O)
  20. i think lordship lane got enough, it may sound cheap but iceland sell top branded products also they have the quickest turn over, so all food is always fresh, and sainsburys is our other great option. it will probably be difficult to have competitive rates of food, if someone has to go cheaper, then the next store slashes the cheaper one, then they have to import chicken from some flat in iraq to stay in buisness "mind you that could be a good thing, open up loads more" thats what = resesion. if anything im sure weitrose or marks deliver......by opening more stores and attracting crowds creates loads of cars, then parking meters will be installed everyware, then more lego men on mopeds that cant talk english and think their the police and talking rude to people, its bad enough having to drive around the block 10 times to get a space,
  21. Dulwich libary is a landmark i think, that was our hub for learning at st anthonys and research , when visiting parks and museum, but mind you we never had internet then, but i will allways enjoy a book as quick easy relaxing reference than a pc playing up when you need to find something, couldnt the libary be lottery funded in some way , i see the lottery have funded the building in dulwich park for the council? i bet if you put a cafe in the libary and seating in the green next to it would be deilightfull.
  22. Blimey, the whole of dulwich has certainly changed and changing more, soon there will be B&B's all over the manor.
  23. Well thats probably a Historic change for dulwich, that the hall is set for closure. And ie the dulwich libary. Mind you i think ive seen more pregnant women in dulwich than ive ever sen in my life "probably needs it" but they will have to put a zebra crossing there which might cost a bit, pluss a lolly pop lady. thats problay why the guy is refurbing his sweet shop across the road . theres also another hall down the side of bassono street use to be the dulmore youth group wonder what that will be.
  24. Gees, actually thinking this thread has had more hits than frank bruno, or are we talking "rubish" :O)
  25. Thanks for all the info, strange how every ones council tax keeps going up, and were doing all the work, you would think they might reduce the tax band a bit, as they are making a lot of money out of the brown bins, i.e food and garden waste, i belive that is how they make compost.
