  1. CPT DMC - I called at 8.15 this morning and was given various options for a doctor today. Took a midday appointment, was seen on time and I was the ONLY person in that waiting room at midday. Strange!!! I will usually get an appointment the day I call but often will wait up to 45 mins later than my actual appointment time once I'm there. Today was an unexpected pleasure.
  2. I found it a ball ache and in retrospect I wish I'd knocked through and extended my basement first. Think about what you need; it's fairly pointless doing a loft conversion if you dont need another bed/bathroom and you lose a hell of a lot of storage space. With the potential for unseen costs and things to go wrong is it worth doing a loft just to "add value" ?

  4. the problem with averages is that it only takes a few crazily excessive numbers to skew that average. median better
  5. Zeban I'm actually rolling in it. All landlords are as you well know. Wait...... is that right?
  6. Thanks Ratty The agents are warning me this could still take up to 6 months. I'm wondering how I can (if possible) speed this up? Or am I purely at the mercy of how quickly the courts act? ratty Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > She can leave after S21 expires without there > being any case of intentionality. 7. My last tenant turned my basement into a pole dancing club and full bar with optics, lazers etc. She failed to pay after 6 months and then half way through the check out drove off with all my furniture AND all the keys... did however leave her goldfish I can't wait not to be a landlord any more.
  8. The tenant took up the tenancy on the basis that she was waiting to complete on a property and she knew we were selling. Now she wants to stay because it turns out that as she is a nurse she can do a subsidised purchase with the Gov/Council. The original purchase fell through and council have advised her not to leave as she won't be considered for a new house on this scheme if she relinquishes her tenancu out of choice. So now I have to go through the courts so that the council will take her situation seriously. She is over the initial 6 months and we served noticed on section 21 on 23rd August. I wouldn't relish being in her situation but equally... I'm not enjoying mine much either.
  9. Hi Anyone have any experience of getting rid of a tenant who insists on paying their rent on time and refuses to leave? The property in question was up for sale when the tenant moved in and was a standard 6 month then rolling contract. I have accepted an offer but fear I will lose the buyer if I don't resolve this shortly. By the sounds of it I have to go through the courts but does anyone know of the most direct and fruitful process? Any solicitors that specialise in this that anyone may have used? (yes i can google this but looking for personal experience).
  10. As much as our expectations have changed, many providers have raised the bar. The many decent Mexicans / South American eateries in London just highlighted how bad that one was. right I'm off to www.poncho8.com for lunch =) Jeremy Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > The Mexican place is a great example of how our > expectations have changes in recent years. > > You could probably say the same about some of the > Indian restaurants, but even so, we don't need > another Indian restaurant in East Dulwich (anyway, > I'm unashamedly fond of the trad british curry > house).
  11. The mexican that is closing down on Lordship is a prime example of what you don't want to do. Open a resturant that sells bad food, change the country of origin but probably continue to serve the similiarly bad food... can't recall what is opening in it's place but guarantee it'll be the same dross. Whatever you do make sure you are good at it and it's priced right.
  12. thanks - if there is anything you need from me please let me know.
  13. go see how busy Swadesh is on a weekend night. You say "Indian Dining" - are you connected with Indian Dining Club / Kennington Tandoori?
