  1. I agree, being able to get an appt. on the same day is great if you have the flexibility to wait around all day for whatever time you are allotted, but taking a day off work for something that isn't really an emergency seems a little excessive - a system somewhere in between would be better.
  2. It just seems so foolish that the system appears to be set up for those who are able to wait around all day for an appt. surely most patients have jobs to get to? I have emailed the practice manager and await to hear, although interestingly, the last time i emailed her on the same issue she rustled up an appointment the next day, which was nice, but only made me think that if i'd made more of a fuss with reception i might have had more luck.
  3. Upon booking an appt. for the doctor at DMC i was told the next available slot was Feb 7th - a full 2 weeks away. Is this normal or should i pretend it's an emergency next time? I note their website states that "If your condition is not urgent then you will be offered an appointment to see your doctor within two working days or you can choose a convenient time up to two weeks in advance".
  4. we have recently extended the leases on all 5 flats in our block - we are share of f/h and it wasnt that expensive - more time consuming in terms of waiting for land registry and mortgage replies etc. Would also recommend Suzanne @Glazer delmar on NC Rd as she did ours with no hassle. If you are share of f/h then you will also be a shareholder in the freehold compnay, so all you will need is the secretary + 1 other director to sign the paperwork.
  5. hi Kelly, I would like to book a spray tan this week but cant get through on your phone or email - my number is 07824662987. if you can give me a call that would be great. Mari
  6. does that mean a journey from e.dulwich to L. Bridge tomorrow morning is affected then? sorry for being a bit dim!
  7. Does anyone know if the 5mph car limit applies to bicycles in dulwich park? Got a load of abuse from a cyclist after shouting at him to slow down or use a proper road after he very nearly ran my dog over on sunday. Considering the number of small children and dogs who use the park it seems ludicrous that cyclists can use the nice flat path as a time trial circuit and zip round at 20+mph. would like to be sure of my ground before the next encounter!
  8. Why aren't those claiming JSA and related benefits for more than 6 months doing these sorts of things? I would be intrigued to see the variation in claimant numbers (if there is one) should such a system be instigated.
  9. A 1 eyed yorkshire terrier has wandered into the castle pub on CP Road who seems to have no owner and no name tag. If anyone has lost it the pub's number is 0208 693 1872. They are looking after it for the time being.
  10. interesting article in the paper at the weekend highlighting the difference in reaction and awareness to these environmental spills - according to this report the same amount of oil that has been spilled so far in the gulf is equal to the amount that is spilled ANNUALY in the Niger delta region through leaking infrastructure and sabotage, with very little action to clean it up - life expectancy is apparently around 40 due to the health effects.
  11. also be aware that sensitivity will / can be an issue after the treatment. You are stripping away a couple of layers of enamel which brings the nerve endings closer to the surface. Also be careful as only dentists are legally allowed to perform this as it uses v.powerful chemicals (hydrogen peroxide) to strip the enamel - beauty salons and whitening clinics that don't have a dentist performing this procedure are expoliting a loophole in the law whilst the legal situation is clarified at EU level. If the trays arent made up correctly and some of the gel gets on your gums, you will know about it, big time. see here http://www.teethwhiteningsafely.co.uk/news_article.pdf (sorry, dont know how to make the link blue etc like you professionals!)
  12. any right thinking individual looks at the current sitsuation and sees that he needs to go - however, we (UK) would be the last country to take on that job for the reaons outlined below. until South Africa takes a lead in dealing with him which is unlikely whilst they are still in their post-apartheid 're-balancing' he will alsways be seen as an anti colonial hero. Unpleasant as it will be to see, the best ooption would be for a foreign country (probably SA again) to offer him asylum, immunity and a load of cash to sit out the end of his days in untouchable luxury. One of the problems is that the many 2nd and 3rd tier aparatchiks who have grown rich off of mugabes favour by oppressing the population are not important enough to be offered immunity elsewhere and will be turned upon once regime change occurs - consequently they work very hard to maintain the status quo as they need it to continue their comfortable lives. To a degree they are more of a problem than the man himself.
