Hi My husband and I have started virtual boxing/exercise sessions at home this week with Simone @ Mind Over Matter Boxing as we seem to be visiting the fridge a little too often throughout the day these days :) We have boxing experience so have some of our own kit, but I have also done some really effective 'solo' sessions in my small lounge without any specialist equipment. She is also hosting classes online a few evenings a week. We are booked in for this Monday evening and are looking forward to engaging online with others in the community and to work out together. Hi I have an out of control ivy growing all over my back garden fence and up the side of my house and would like to get it cut right back or ideally removed completely. I want to replace the fence panels that are totally covered in the ivy too as they are starting to bend and mis-shape and it looks a real mess. Is there anyone locally who could tackle the ivy removal and fence replacement as 1 job?? Any advice or recommendations welcome! Laroon

I highly recommend Simone's Boxing classes at the Albrighton Centre. The classes are fun & friendly. I've met some lovely people I have been paired with who also go regularly. Simone makes sure each 'team of two' are well matched with fitness & experience level and she gives lots of attention to each pair throughout the sessions so you can be sure you are constantly improving your technique and improving your fitness under her watchful eyes! The space is bright, fresh and airy with plenty of space to move around and is super easy to get to even when rushing home from work in the evening - a short walk from ED train station means there are no after work excuses!! The evening and weekend options mean I can fit the sessions easily around my busy life and they have become a vital part of my weekly routine. You will love the classes if you give it a go :)

When I started boxing with Simone I had never done anything like it before, so I was excited and nervous at the start. The beginners 'Learn to Box' course will give you 100% confidence to join the classes on a regular basis from a total beginner level. Simone spends time showing you the basics right from wrapping your hands & getting the gloves on, to how to get in the boxing stance and by the end of the session you will know a series of punches and be able to do punching combinations like a pro! Its exhilarating, been fabulous for my strength, fitness and mental wellbeing - I love it and totally recommend giving it a go! Once you have completed the beginners session you will be ready to join in the classes on days that suit you. You will quickly see your fitness level improve and meet some friendly new people along the way.

Ive been away for a few months (parking was quite good before I left) and came back recently and was shocked how congested the parking is now around Colwell Road / Melbourne Grove / Playfield Crescent area - it used to be relatively easy to get a parking space here but now its tricky, I have been wondering if there are any new parking restrictions in place elsewhere that are having a knock on effect?

Just a word of warning... My husband was looking at his phone this evening on Lordship Lane while walking along and a motorbike with 2 people on it drove up to him and stole it from his hand as he approached the Bassano Street junction at about 6.30pm. Be careful and be aware of whats happening around you if using your phone on the street fellow ED'ers...

And another one.... I too contacted Dave after reading the positive reviews on this forum to get some long overdue repairs to some guttering and im glad I did. He was really helpful when I explained what the problem was over the phone, popped round the next day to see the propery & give me the quote, then the following week he arrived as arranged with another chap (sorry cant remember his name)to do the work. They were both really friendly, were quick, neat and efficent. I asked if he could look at another few bits and bobs while he was here, and he did no problem at all. I will definitely use Dave & his team for the additional jobs I need to get done. He saw I had a dodgy bit of plaster that needs redoing in my hall, and he said he could pop round and tidy that up for me too, which is really helpful. Dave is on 07412000214

I dont know where its gone, but im anxious every time I turn round the corner of Playfield just in case it comes back! As a Playfield resident I am SO GLAD its gone now... we have had the joy of it parked without moving EVER from outside our houses for nearly 2 years now. Well, it did move a few meters down the road for the last 6 months of its stationary tax disc life. I hope it hasn't gone on a Paranormal Investigation just to return at a later date..... that would be a TRUE HORROR.
