  1. I am reposting this since it was lost after website migration. My son (a child) was attacked on 7th July between 12 - 1pm by a man with a bike and a long pole. My son went out for a jog all by himself in the neighbourhood. The attacker chased him from across the street, shouted racially abusive and homophobic language, and finally beat him on the head with the pole. My son was knocked down to the ground and didn't see which way the attacker went. There was no one around on the residential street and it all happened very quickly. My son was extremely afraid of being followed and therefore ran towards the busy streets. He made a loop home and constantly checking around. He spotted the attacker's bike and pole outside a local pub. All these happened less than 10 minutes away from home. It involved Henslowe Road, Upland Road and Crystal Palace Road, as far as I am aware. As it's an ongoing police investigation, I would be very grateful if you can check your Ring/ CCTV footage and see if it picked up a man with bike and pole passing by on the 7th July. The investigation case reference number is 3020157/22. If there are more footage than what the pub has, the police would have more evidence to continue. This is the second time that my son was followed by the attacker. Back in April this year, the attacker followed him on Friern Road and used racist and homophobic language which he ignored. From the previous post, it seemed that there has been someone, who may or may not be the attacker, have had aggressive behavior that are known to some locals. It's very unsettling to know that the attacker hang around locally and have become more hostile and dangerous towards a child. The attacker is not going to stop there if he faces no consequcne for causing bodily and psychological harm. And it's completely unfair that our children can't go out in the neighbourhood just for a short peroid of time in the daylight while the attacker gets a free pass.
  2. Paul removed the building waste for me today. He replied quickly on email with a quote based on the picture and arrived on time. Did a good job. Highly recommend!
  3. Hi, I need a gardener to tidy up the front garden with overgrown hedges (about 2-2.5 meter high laurel and Yew). Cut it down to 1.5m and remove waste. Please let me know if anyone is interested in the job. Thanks Ann
  4. I have used Andy for a few different jobs and he has always been very helpful and good in communication.
  5. It's nearly 2 and it is still very loud. I contacted the noise team too how come they still haven't resolved it!
  6. Loud music at mid night. Very inconsiderate!
  7. I shared my story here because the thieves are likely to strike again since mums with young kids are easy targets. And sadly, we still have to go to the same library regularly.
  8. Just a heads up for mums who go to dulwich library with children... I was there with my son at noon and I put our coats and bags on the cushion after we got in. (Used purse before went it so it's def in my bag) It was really quiet and no more than 10 ppl including children were there. The librarian were helping us to reserve a long list of octonauts books so we were all facing the computer for quite a while. Once I got home my bank called re suspicious activities on the debit card and that was a bit after 1pm. Clearly someone got my purse and went to a nearby supermarket to try take cash out. Called police and cancelled everything. But very annoyed as the purse has sentimental value as well. It's a shame that it happened in a nice library with excellent stuff. Also, I can only remember seeing mums with young children and pushchairs there ... Hopefully the CCTV footage capture something useful Just be aware
  9. We can't do tomorrow as he goes to sports camp. Have fun and hope to see some of you before starting nursery...in a month.
  10. My child went to a local summer camp and bumped his forehead there. It was quite obvious with the bruise and bump. When I collected him, no one mention it to me but himself. In the nursery, there is usually procedure, treatment, phone call and slip. Is it usual that the ppl running summer activities don't record accident?
  11. Can't do 22nd. But hopefully we could arrange another one some other time.
  12. A few years ago I had my son there. When he was 5 days old he was admitted to neonatal unit for jaundice. My husband and I had a room to sleep for two nights in the unit so that I can breast feed him throughout the time. The nurses were very competent and helped us (new parents) a lot.
  13. I used an architect firm to design my garage conversion and subsequently its in house builder for construction. Long story short, the firm and builder got all the money and delayed building work. The builder held me at ransom by asking for more money otherwise will not purchase material or send any subcontractor. He admits that he has cash flow issue. But I have paid him way more than what he has done so his excuse is not valid. Besides, he stopped coming to the building site after getting all the payments and only send workmen to do bits and pieces without coordination. That's just poor service standards and customer care. Although pregnant, I have to manage the subcontractors when they show up. The architect firm CEO is the son of the builder. Therefore the manager from the firm is trying to persuade me into giving him whatmever he want. He is asking me to pay for extras work, which was due to his mismanagement. For example, Electrician changed downlights position and I asked him to change back to original drawing. He is also asking for retainer, which is not much and only to be paid 1 month after completion, as stated the contract. Anyway, they are completely horrible to deal with and I was in a lot of stress while being pregnant. I just want to end things with them, get someone to finish the work, have a child and claim the money back in court later. Does anyone know any good solicitor for building dispute? Or is there anyone local who can be a witness and give legal advice when I have a meeting with them? Thanks
  14. Have to give 8/9th Feb a miss as it's time to prepare for Chinese New Year with in-laws. What about Feb half term? Anyone fancy going around town for some activities in Museums or other events? Ann
