  1. Mockney, the'motorway' looked very much like the Qinetiq test track in surrey.

Allycat, it seems we already have our very own East Dulwich survivor, Nicholas Gleaves aka Mr. Lesley Sharp, looks as if he's shaping up to be a scientist baddie though.

  2. F C Sopers in Nunhead, been there 110 years one of the best fishmongers in london, they sell tasty irish Oysters and will open and serve them to you in the shop.

This time of year Oysters are very creamy because this is when they spawn, some people don't like it but others go mad for summer oysters, the french get very excited about it.

  3. I had a nightmare with the on-demand always having to unplug it to re-boot , rang them up several times to complain, one time I was told it was the box next it was the local service. Anyway, upgraded to the V+ box and the fitters told me the old boxes are shit, no problems yet with the new V+, so try asking for a replacement box.

Well he didn't do much better with his nickname 'Sexual Chocolate', courtesy of Darren Gough.

edit - 'Randy Watson' (Eddie Murphy) lead singer of 'Sexual Chocolate' from the film 'Coming To America'.

  5. HonaloochieB,

I looked high and low for your copy of Private Eye and had no luck, however I did find this example of both young and old coming to together in harmony, perhaps embarking on their own special voyage of discovery -

At least it may provide some consolation, if not I suggest you try looking in Neasden or maybe Lymeswold?

  6. david_carnel - "In recent years there has been a real dearth of Englishmen abroad. Yet at Italia 90 quite a few had overseas experience or went on to play overseas...?

As a small footnote, one Italia 90 England squad member had a terrible and rather apt finish to his time abroad.

Long after Italia 90 Tony Dorigo joined manager Souness on one of his many sojourns abroad in Seria B at Torino. In a penalty shoot out in the play off for promotion to Seria A, -all previous 9 penalties successfully converted- up steps the England player and he promptly rockets it wide and then quickly heads back home to Derby County.

However Trevor Steven did alright at Marseille, winning the league title.
