  1. Hi everyone, I am due on the 19th Feb with number 2. My little boy is nearly 3.5. I would be keen to join any meet ups. Kate
  2. Interested to know what is happening to the old car park? I haven't been in a while.
  3. Take a look at this organisation https://thirdbridge.co.uk/#/home They link charities and social enterprises with corporate organisations and individuals who want to use their skills or develop partnerships. It is free to use. I work for a charity and we have used this to access skilled volunteers before. Kate
  4. Hi LondonMix, I have pm'ed you some more info.
  5. We are hoping to complete on our flat sale and house purchase next month. I have had mixed responses to this question so thought i'd pose it here... Are we required to fill in any holes left by our pictures/shelves and repaint the walls when we leave our current home? I would not expect our vendor to do this in the place we are buying but have been told to do it by some friends and a removal man who came to give us a quote. Other friends have said don't bother. Confused.
  6. We live in a flat and have had a loft conversion. No issues getting planning from Southwark and a few of our neighbours have since followed suit.
  7. Our location of choice with a 2 year old is Rocca in Dulwich Village. The staff are lovely, food great and there are always lots of other families there. They also serve the food really quickly so you dont have to entertain a hungry child for too long. Plus you can do a park walk before/after to burn off some energy.
  8. Just another reminder to lock bikes securely. Last night, we interupted a group of about 6 men on mopeds trying to steal our neighbours bike. It was still light (9pm) and they were very noisy so this was a brazen attempt. Our neighbour, reported it to the police who said that the group had targeted another bike on Barry Road about 5 minutes before. I wondered if James had heard back about ground anchors from Southwark? There are about 6 bikes on our street and I'm certain all owners would use a designated space and lock up if available. None of the properties on our street have big enough front garden spaces. We are in Peckham Rye so this would be applicable for Renata.
  9. I would love a Peckham lido and love the idea of resurrecting the original however as a local who lives next to that end of the park, I agree with DulwichFox. The roads that surround that end of the Rye are already super busy. Importantly there would be no parking facilities and our already crowded residential streets would be swamped unless of course, they built a carpark which would take away some much loved green space to accomodate it.
  10. Hi Kellie We used a sleepy head and had a cocoonababy. Sorry Ive no experience with a snuzpod. Our little boy had quite bad reflux so the shape of the cocoonababy worked wonders for him and we switched to this when he was about 5 weeks old. It is quite tall too so we were able to have it in bed with us if he was having a bad night or put it in his cot at the side of our bed. Unfortunately we sold the sleepy head and a friend is borrowing the cocoonababy at the moment. As and when we have a second I think we would get a snuzpod as I like the close proximity it offers but would no doubt use the cocoonababy still within it. This is what our friends are doing who borrowed it. They use it downstairs for naps during the day and then put it in their snuzpod at night. Good luck. Hope you find something that works. Kate
  11. I found a Lowepro camera bag today on the bench by the lake (no camera in it). The wardens office was closed so I gave it in at the cafe. Hope the owner sees this and gets it back.
  12. I got married at Belair House in December and it was beautiful. We had a small ceremony and lunch with close family and a few friends. We then had our reception (party) the following evening at Greenwich Yacht Club which was also perfect for our plans. I realise this isnt in the immediate area but worth a look if you can't find your ideal venue.
  13. Steve visited me today after my washing machine stopped draining. Within 15 minutes a rogue hair clip was removed and the drum had drained. Now sat listening to the familiar hum and watching my washing pile reduce finally. Highly recommended.
  14. Hi everyone I am due at the start of April with my first and i'd be very keen to come to your next get together and meet any mums in the area. Evenings and weekends work for me too. My midwife has proven to be a bit illusive so hoping you guys will be able to help with tips and advice as after reading different threads on the forum, i am feeling even more clueless!!! Lots of love Kate
  15. I know the lady you are talking about. Her old dog, a black lab cross which she had from a puppy was called sweet pudding. It got very aggressive and we used to make a detour when we saw her with it because it didn't wear a collar, she never walked it on a lead and she couldn't control it. She had brown hair then as well. I hadnt seen her for about 2-3 months and then saw her last weekend with the black lab puppy you mentioned and newly dyed blond hair. I think the new puppy is called pudding (minus the sweet). This one has a lovely nature, a collar and lead and she seems to be doing her best to train it. I'm not sure whether the original sweet pudding went to. She has isn't always pleasant and you never quite know how she'll be so i just tend to avoid her if i can.
