  1. How lovely to hear from you Daniel. You have clearly been too busy to drop me round the ?150 you promised by the end of the month. I suggest you refer back to your texts...unless there are so many people you have promised to reimburse by the end of Deember, you will presumably be able to identify which of your dissatisfied clients I am. If you need to double check you can check how many and from whom hand delivered letters to your registered address you received and maybe clarifiy that way? Of course you know who I am and what my conplaint is. We have been in correspondence for 6 weeks since you bodged a job at my home. You stall endlessly by asking people to call you and say you will put things right. Well, the first didn't happen, and as you know I've had to pay another plunmber to make good your appalling workmanship. I note this is a standard response of yours on this forum..one I see you've employed may times before ...to pretend you do not know who is making the complaint and to say you will resolve things once someone calls you. Your attitude is hostile, extremely disingenuous and dishonest. Should you wish to continue this dialogue in public, I am more than happy to..I have copies of all our correspondence and do not take kindly to being patronised and deceived. Your response calls it "ridicules" that I am taking this dispute into a pubic arena and states that you are more than happy to resolve this issue. You have had every opportunity for the past 2 months to solve this issue and have failed todo so. I am furious that you are abusing this forum to make it appear that you are responding reasonably and for the first time, to a customer complaint whan you and I both know I have had to lodge a small claims court claim against you to attempt to bring this matter to a resolution. This is an issue of consumer protection...other users of this site deserve to be made aware of your actions and have full information on your service to inform any choice they may wish to make about using you.
  2. Re Corenza's message. What a load of tosh. Why on earth would you be bothered to write in to praise a plumber over work carried out last year, if you did not in xome way have an interest in Dulwich Plumbing. What is patently obvious from ALL the posts, positive and negative is: a) Daniel is very charming; b) He is very very prompt to arrive to do enough to get paid...but NOT to return in case of complaints; c) the majority of the jobs he carries out are bog standard and don't really require much plumbing expertise (see the amount of blocked loos, drains, plumbing in washing machines, small leaks, etc. What is effectively happening in my opinion is that Daniel is making an extremely lucrative living by acting as a call out plumber and charging emergencty rates during normal hours. Note the amount of posts (nearly all of them) that say things to the effect that he was contactd at 10am and came at 11, for eg. This is also presumably why he is leaving jobs in the middle of them, bodging jobs etc etc....he is rushing off to the next emergency. He is effectively counting on peoples anxiety about water damage, turning a problem into a crisis and therefore banking on people feeliong relieved and satified if it does atually get fixed. Unfortunately it is clear that on a number of occasions it does not get fixed. I never received an invoice for the work carried out for me, but to regrout (unsuccessfully) round the side of a bath cost me ?150. Daniel will know whether he pays VAT and Income Tax on uninvoiced for work.
  3. Although there are some positives..and that's why I opted for this company, there are lots of posts elsewhere on this forum about the appalling "service" delivered by Dulwich Heating and Plumbing. I suggest you do a trawl of those before reaching a final decision about whether to use them. Their behaviour is predatory, dishonest and irresponsible. I am currently pursuing Daniel for work carried out at a rate of ?150 per hour, but which has not actually fixed the leak which he was contracted to do. I have full written documentation from Daniel admitting liability for failure to carry out the work, and undertakings to pay me back the ?150 owed, but which he simply refuses to pay back. I have no other option but to resort to the law to recover my money. My experience is identical to many others that can be seen elsewhere on this site. It would be interesting to cost up how much Daniel has cost members of this forum in uncompleted and/or bodged work. Buyer beeware....personally I wouldn't touch with a bargepole and can not warn strongly enough against this company.

  5. I have within the last year followed up on three glowing EDF recommendations. One, a plasterer, Micky Lawless, was excellent. The other two, a carpenter/handyman and a plumber were appalling. I am currently in dispute with the latter who charged c?160 for an hour's work and still left me with the original leak in my bathroom. He acknowledges in writing, that he owes me the money, but two months after the work, has failed to pay it back to me. Most of what I see on the this site is what apears to be a real over-hyping of certain businesses. I can't be the only one who's had such negative experiences. Either that, or people really do have more money than sense and don't notice a rip off when they see it. (alas too late for me!!). Is there anywhere to insert ones negative feedback, that it won't get moderated off the site? An objective observer would say that many of the comments on this site are hagiographies, rather than reviews.
  6. what a bizarre Q. Someone who drives in France fairly frequently and who's been spot checked twice. Re the info...it's only a heads up...take it or leave it. Mick Mac Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > And as for you Ruchabo... WTFAY ?
  7. Missing the point here...the French are removing all their signs telling you where their speed traps are (fair enough) and installing many more, to try to reduce their 500+ road deaths per year. That's only part of the package..the other is that they are increasing spot checks to make sure people have their reflective jackets, warning triangles etc, and these will include checking on any Satnav you may have in the car. And they say they're going to be much aggressive in the amount of checks they'll be undertaking. So you can be tootling along the autoroute at an entirely legitimate 110Km and be pulled over for a spot check. And if your Satnav isn't disabled and is on default to speedcam checks, as many are, you're liable for a fine of up to 1,500 euros. So possession is enough, regardless of your speed. And it's a helluva fine.
  8. Hi, I am looking to buy a laptop/notebook for my niece who's recently been diagnosed with a serious illness (on her 11th birthday, bless) which means she'll be having to have lots of bed rest over the coming months. She's a really active kid, so it's gojng to be really tough on her, so we're looking at ways of relieving the tedium. I'd like to get her a reasonably priced laptop type thing that doesn't need to be super high spec, will need a decent battery life, as she's likely to be in hosp and not able to plug into mains (parents will have to take home and recharge overnight), can play music and DVDs and doesn't cost a fortune, (but isn't rubbish...it will get a fair amount of use in the long term from herself and her two siblings). Am open as to the screen size..am thinking probably a smaller one is better... I'm hoping to get away with under ?300. Is this doable? Can anyone recommend something? Cheers
  9. There's been loads of coverage recently about the new law in France requiring drivers to carry a single use breathalyser with them while driving in France. In reality the law won't be enforced until 1 Nov and only carries a 11 euro fine. What hasn't received nearly as much coverage, is that it's illegal to have a Satnav that can detect speed cameras. even if the Satnav's not currently in use. Fine : 1,500 euros! So, if you have one of these you should get the speed camera detection bit disabled, or else.... There's more about this on any of the big motoring sites.
  10. It is entirely legit. I got the response below from King's media team. I am going to let them know however, that there was no direct explanation of the fact that the collector wanted to come into my home to sign me up for monthly gift collection and this needs to be made much more clear. And also that their training needs to be tweaked to deal with the issues I raised earlier. Shame it was done like this, cos I'd be very very happy to support this, and indeed will do so. Kings response: Thank you for getting in touch with your concerns regarding a recent doorstep fundraising visit. King?s College Hospital Charity is currently operating a door to door fundraising campaign where our fundraisers ask members of the local community if they would like to support the hospital through a monthly gift by Direct Debit. Our fundraisers are expected to dress appropriately; wearing a charity t-shirt and displaying a visible ID badge, and of course at all times remaining courteous and polite. At no point should our fundraisers be putting people into a position where they feel they have to sign up. I?m sorry that on this occasion our fundraisers did not meet our high standards. We endeavour to make sure that any fundraising activity undertaken by the charity is carried out with care and consideration as the reputation of our hospital is paramount. I will be making sure that the team involved takes greater care in their approach to fundraising and in the information they give out about our campaign. I will also remind all our fundraisers of the importance in showing their ID badges. Door to door fundraising has shown itself to be an incredibly effective fundraising tool for many charities, helping to inspire people to give who otherwise might not have heard of the charity, or in this case are not aware that they can support their local hospital in this way. King?s College Hospital has long benefited from philanthropic support and the charity has provided funding for many new initiatives and projects, including the Variety Children?s Hospital. Once again, I apologise for any distress caused and if you do have any further questions, please don?t hesitate to get in touch.
  11. I've reported it to King's media team. If she's genuine she's in breach of basic door to door protocol..she didn't offer her badge for inspection (altho she was wearing something round her neck) and was quite insistent to come in and fill out a form with me....both very poor practice I reckon. I will post any response I get from Kings.
