  2. The first photo is not accessible at all ( sorry, cannot open it) but the second shows quite a queue. Why quibble about exact times? You have evidenced significant traffic buildup, right next to a school and health centre. What we need is videos or photo evidence taken over a number of months at various times.
  3. Slarti b has done a great job of casting doubt on Southwark's statistical 'argument' in favour of LTNs, and you do not seem to have a response based on very much that is concrete, instead seeking to challenge the integrity of those holding different views to your own. On the note of peddling lies and half-truths- where has Slarti said 'Southwark are evil'? No doubt Heartblock can also produce photos and video evidence to support his/her case. northernmonkey Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I'm not sure 200% plus is the right figure - but > your approach of 'southwark are evil because they > have deliberately tried to mislead people' is > laughable in the face of your support for One > Dulwich. > > The 8% they raise in this 'paper' is also > undoubtedly massively understated - but obviously > chosen for effect and the hope that people will > read the headline and move on. > > One Dulwich lie and use half truths to perpetuate > a narrative of fear to stoke up support. > > > > slarti b2 Wrote: > -------------------------------------------------- > ----- > > northernmonkey Wrote: > > So - I cracked and read this 'report'. > > > > Following my earlier response to you I have now > > read through that OneDulwich Report in more > > detail. 4. It would be interesting to know if long-term there is to be an agreement with the Charter for staff members to use the parking spaces. If there is really no use or anticipated use for them then perhaps they should be opened up for local use?
  5. Aren't females normally the larger? As the RichH says, he'll get eaten soon. FWIW I think I can see two spiders, one slightly larger to the left, the other a but smaller on right and guessing that is the male. They have similar markings but cannot count all the legs.
  6. Thanks so much. I still don't understand how I was unable to access this stuff on a search.
  7. When addressing or responding to vulnerable or disabled- "Ah bless", "my love" "pop" clothing on or off, or "pop yourself" onto a chair or bed.
  8. Can anyone explain how to access basic information about classes and timetables available without having first to submit a load of contact details and also agree to T&C's to the national private company subcontracted to run the place? Perhaps the centre is closed but it does not feel right that details of activities available to residents cannot be accessed without first submitting personal information.
  9. Is pointing out key data that was promised is missing really "straining every sinew"?
  10. I think calling posters that disagree with you a 'mob' is possibly just as rude/insulting as calling another poster 'patronising'. Pots and kettles!
  11. Malambu said: " I don't buy the "I need it just in case I have to rush to A&E) as there will always be a helpful neighbour, taxi, or push comes to shove an ambulance". Absolute rubbish!
  12. The source of the data is on the links provided, clear for all to see.
  13. Rt already said he 'stands corrected'...!
  14. I'd love to have a comment from the local councillor on all this. Just to get insight into how they think this is justified.
  15. This system is really loaded against those for whom smartphones and other tech is not second nature.
  16. WOD, spot on. That is the problem. 17. Okay, to get back to the discussion, a number of posters do seem to agree that the school run is possibly a major contributor to congestion at times. Has "One Dulwich" or any other group come up with some useful suggestions? Does anyone know if Southwark Council have tried to do anything meaningful with schools and parents?
  18. Agreed, my own view is it is most likely to be Isis KP, AQ or Taliban.
  19. No need to apologise, it is a very complex situation and we know most governments on earth are capable of using the dark arts for political expediency. I was genuinely interested what you thought was going on. SpringTime Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Ok I'm backing down. 20. Aside from those with mobility issues, who has said they want it to be easier to drive to the shops?
  21. Agree with you Nigello.
  22. SpringTime, who do you think would have caused two reported explosions in last hour? Are you suggesting it is a setup by US/UK troops to hasten exit?
  23. Too variable in response time Nigello. Quite often it is necessary to set off to destination immediately. Plus taxi quite often does not want what could amount to one-way fare out of area. The walking/cycling PT model works if your family live very close by/ your life and work is all local or you are young with few commitments.
  24. It is when you are in this sort of situation that going without a car becomes untenable. For last minute A&E/ mercy dashes or similar when out of town ( we don't all live close to relatives), zip cars, trains, other PT are no use at all. womanofdulwich Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Im thinking about it, but it has been for last > minute dashes that I have kept the car, rushing > off to see ill parents, needing to take them to > hospital etc. also collecting teenagers/ taking > them to A and E. etc etc. I guess there is a time > when you dont need to be around for these mercy > dashes, but the cost of a quick train/ flight to > somewhere more than an uber away is v expensive. > If you qualify for free public transport and dont > have to factor in these emergency journeys then > there is little reason to have the responsibility > of a car.
  25. Is there any data on how many people living within each LTN own and use a car? heartblock Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > As Melbourne is now an LTN, why not remove all > parking except for some disabled bays and a few > for business visitors.
