  1. Not necessarily good news. At the height of summer, when many people may be unable to go away on holiday, significant parts of the park will be closed off to locals.
  2. There is a lot of dog theft at the moment. If possible could you take this dog to a local vet and if it has a microchip you may be able to locate the owners that way.
  3. Have you offered to British Library or Lawn Tennis Association? 4. Next it'll be the Commonplace hoax or Commonplace fake news.
  5. Agree with legal. Repeated attempts by a handful of posters to frame any objector to current LTNs as an uneducated, unthinking, physically lazy and rabid petrol-head is now wearing thin. It is not constructive and does not add to the debate. It looks like an attempt to derail or distract. legalalien Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Rahrah that?s because you are trying to imagine an > objector to the schemes that I don?t think exists > - one who is fighting for car dominance on some > sort of principled basis. 6. In fairness, it was stated by the meeting chair that supplementary questions would not be taken. Clive asked if he could make one, and that was the chair's response. I had thought that much later in the meeting the reason for the response was further qualified as Clive's question was submitted late in day and not as expected, or something like that.
  7. Rockets said- "Why was Clive Rates shut down so quickly by Cllr Williams?" Yes, I'd queried this too. I got the impression that a question had been put in later and in a different way from what S'wark expected? But yes, it definitely looked like he was shut down in a very abrupt way. Catherine Rose certainly has a way of using many words to say very little. The sudden downgrading of the Commonplace tool was rather telling, I felt.
  8. https://rabbitwelfare.co.uk/rabbit-care-advice/ownership/ This is a great resource and clear about why rabbits may not be the best pet for children.
  9. Otherwise known as the flag hoax.

Compared to wolves dogs are more juvenile in terms of behaviour.... this is well known and is not new. Routine barking at certain noises is an innate watchdog function in many breeds and a trait selected for over hundreds of years.
  11. KK, I do agree, the simple solution is that until your dog is sufficiently trained have them on a lead or a long line. This is a matter of educating dog and puppy owners. Brightfield1975, dog ownership can be a very positive thing, even when the dog is only a pet. Some are of the view that there is no place for dogs in the modern world. I do not agree. What we can agree on is that where dog owners are sharing valued space with non-dog owners there needs to be greater consideration given to those who may dislike or fear dogs. Young dogs do need some free running so would-be owners need to consider if they can achieve this without imposing on those who do not own dogs. As for the point about 'forced' breeding; not sure what you mean? Are you against all forms of artificial selection and therefore all domestic species? 12. brightfield1975 Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Taper-some would say that dog ownership is cruel > and unnecessary > > "A ban on dogs off leads would be cruel and > unnecessary" I dare say that owners of support dogs, rescue dogs, security dogs and so on might beg to differ. Of all animal species domestic dogs have evolved to be owned by a human.
  13. Okay, you may well be right. My intention was not to try to beat up the council, I am genuinely concerned as to how mass vaccination will happen in terms of logistics. I thought there might be a multi disciplinary approach. It occurred to me, perhaps incorrectly, that many pharmacies and GP Practices will not be set up to store the Pfizer Vaccination and so wondered if there was a sense of those that are equipped. We cannot have the masses turning up to Kings etc.., so I had wondered if Council owned premises, like the various fitness centres, might be an option? Though storage is still an issue to be resolved. Also wonder where, when and if the army gets involved? For something so big and so vital there seems very little info.
  14. You'd hope there was some communication between the various bodies involved? You'd also hope that after all this time sites had been identified and some sort of provisional plan was in place. The lists I referred to were pharmacies and GP Practices that would be providing vaccinations to the broader population, when the time comes; not sectors. 15. The advice on vaccination rollout is vague. When do we think locations for mass vaccinations might be identified or is it the case that, despite having months to plan for this, the council actually has no plan? Is there a list of pharmacies and GP Practices? Is there a bit more on a 'roving' service?
  16. Can local councillors please advise what plans are in place for covid vaccination rollout in Southwark and what centres are being allocated for this?
  17. Sally, do you not think that those coping with the impact of serious disability, which often includes overwhelming fatigue, have enough to contend with without demanding yet more of them? In principle you may have a point to make but it comes across as a bit tone deaf. I am sure you would agree those who are seriously disabled are among the least considered in society. You have made a point in the past about the impact of lockdown on certain sections of society and the need for some latitude and understanding on the ?rules? to preserve mental health, you talked about about ?walking a mile in your shoes?.
  18. Glad Trinidad that you got through in the end. As Pugwash said, for straightforward issues or complaints PALS can quite often help. Hoping your next experience is more positive. If you are dealing with some form of chronic or progressive condition the pressure of negotiating hospital admin can at times be deeply frustrating and overwhelming.
  19. Definitely remember more than one greengrocer stall as well as butchers etc.., the former were a fixture, not occasional.
  20. Trinidad do you have access to email? I know it is far from ideal but phoning secretaries is unlikely to work these days. Ask for an email address for the consultant?s secretary and email them. If for some very good reason you cannot access email then suggest you go to PALS and ask for support to access the consultant?s secretary. I assume you are unable to leave messages on the secretary?s phone? I hope this is helpful.
  21. I think the crime risk or perception of risk applies both to those cycling and walking, especially when its dark. Also not sure what the solution is.
  22. If the neighbour building is attached to yours or they are digging foundations a certain distance from you (you?ll have to check the distance)a Party Wall Agreement may be in the interests of both parties https://hoa.org.uk/advice/guides-for-homeowners/i-am-improving/party-wall-agreement/
  23. So if someone with a condition like relapsing remitting MS, that precludes a long walk but might allow travel in an automatic car, needed to visit the surgery, would this not be a case where being too ill to walk but not to drive applies? People who are immunosuppressed or undergoing cancer treatment may feel safer in a car. Many people may have to be driven by a carer, like the elderly. I could go on?!
