@intexasatthe moment - Can I just ask, how did you manage to prove the above facts? Did you just literally say, oh the ticket had fallen off the dashboard and they believed you? I am not doubting your honesty by the way, just saying that it makes it sound so simple to challenge a ticket. In my own case it comes down to not understanding the sign, and I now know I cant park there before 10am. Im just praying ticket no 3 is not on its way. However the shiny upside is there shouldnt be a 4th:) @puzzled, Civilservant & Rahrahrah - Thank you for all the replies.

Thank you. I do read the signs. As pointed out above, they arent always that clear and easy to understand. Im just trying to find out where exactly I have parked in error, so I dont end up doing it again. I was wondering if any other drivers had recently had the same thing so I could find out.

Hi All @Ruffers - The Penalty Charge Notice, is from Southwark Council, and says the reason for the ticket(s) is 34J: Being in a bus lane. This has been extreemly confusing. I just wish they would expand on that more, because had I known what I'd done exactly after the first fine, I wouldnt have done it again. Im going to call tommorow to get the exact meaning of the notice, because if its the parking before 10am thing then Im pretty sure there is a 3rd notice on the way, having done the same thing last Friday to shop in Somerfield. @Pickle - Where is the Camera shop out of interest? @Fuschia - Thank you, I do always read the lamposts when parking, but sometimes find when there are 3 sets of restrictions on the notice, for example, No return within 30 minutes, No loading within X, Y,Z, etc, the notice isnt immediately understandable. But accept that I am in the wrong of course.

Hello I am posting because in the past month I've had 2 parking fines for being in a bus lane on Lordship Lane. When the first ticket arrived I felt sick, and cross with myself, but thought perhaps it was for merging into the left hand lane too soon when approaching the mini roundabout as you pass Dulwich Baths where the bus lane ends just before the mini roundabout. I was surprised it was that as Im normally so careful. Then today, I got the 2nd notice. I am now starting to think that maybe this relates to parking on lordship lane instead. This is where I thought I'd ask for Forum users help. I sometimes park outside the cash machines by Somerfield, and go into Somerfield there too. Or I've parked outside Green and Blue a few times, or in the bays outside the East Dulwich Deli. Does anyone know if its likely to relate to these parking areas? Im going to call the number in the morning and ask to view the footage, which apparently you can do, but I just want someone to tell me what I am doing wrong as aside from never parking again on Lordship Lane I cant see another way to avoid it. So nice just before Christmas too. Many thanks Shona

Hello My final post to the thread hopefully (dont want to clutter up the board) as we held the last general collection day yesterday and have started to process all of the lovely things people have given, (see a picture of just a few of our boxes ready for deserving charities) https://www.facebook.com/groups/321067798322/ Final call for anyone who wanted to get along to the pub and didnt, we have limited opportunities this week to do house calls to collect items, so please if you havent already, do get in touch with Tori [email protected] to let her know where you are and what you have. For some people with larger items we are endevoring to place them directly with the charities and get them to come along and collect from your door, this makes more sense as most have vans etc. All the best and thank you all for the support you've given. But, at the risk of being lynched, isnt this why we have to try really really hard to continue to have our own lives and interests post becoming Mums?

Hi Catgirl If you really cant make it, and no one else is going that you know, Im sure we could come and collect it from you, maybe tommorow? If you are happy with that please PM me somewhere to collect from. To everyone else, today is our final collecting day, we have so far had 12 sacks full of items dropped into the pub on Friday, plus recieved several other donations over the weekend either at the pub or at volunteer homes. After today, we'll take stock of any items recieved plus any still to arrange collection for, and then start to package up the items into age appropriate bundles, which makes it much easier for the charties then to place with a suitabe family. If you have promised a donation and havent heard from in the next day or so to collect please get in touch. Shona

I had Sarah Savaskan in Herne Hill and really enjoyed the classes. She seemed pretty realistic about how things might turn out, as a Mum of 4 hersef it helped. The 5 of us still meet, 3 years on, and I really think that alone was worth the money. I have been a tea host myself for SE15 for the last 2 years, which has been great for meeting lots of other local Mums.

DishandtheSpoon replied to sunnyspells's topic in The Family Room Discussion
In the general area there is a lot going on for small children. We set up a Tea Groups page for local parents here, which has a list of things to do loaded up on the site. https://www.facebook.com/groups/321067798322/ -
Help: toddler birthday entertainment advice needed

Hiya There is a lady who is a professional storyteller, Vanessa, who would probably do a small group session for you. She is very well respected, does a weekly session at Woolfson and Tay in Bermondsey & the book shop in Dulwich. http://www.londondreamtime.com/London_Storyteller.html Hope it goes well. -
Hi Just a quick add on as I have a planning application in myself at the moment, the duty planner service that Caz mentions, at the Cuming Museum has been stopped. I was able to use it in around May time, and it was brilliant being able to sit down with a planner and gain from his experience, I tried to go again in August to be told it had been cut, and now there is no way of getting any planning advice pre application. The fact this information was still on Southwarks website was annoying as I had a totally wasted trip. In the end I did it all myself, had it rejected on one point, not outlining the building in red on the site plan, then that was resubmitted. But I have found the admin woeful. You struggle to get anyone on the phone and when you do they arent very forthcoming. But I suppose we have to remember the volume of applications they deal with. I'd be concerned if you cant see your application on line by now though. Worth a chase. Shona
