  1. Hi, the child can probably be up to 4 at the start. The age range we were advised to look for is quite vague - the child should be no younger than 2.5 at the start and shouldn't really have turned 5 by the end of the 9 months. I hope that makes sense.
  2. Hello all, I have recently begun the second year of a Masters degree in Child Psychotherapy and am looking for a kind, local family who might be willing to help me with a module of my Masters... The particular module focuses on personality development in young children and involves observing a young child (aged between 2 ? to 3 ?) for one hour a week over the next 9 months. I also have a series of lectures and seminars on the subject, but the practical experience of observing this happen in a real child is the most important part of the module. I?m aware that the the idea of having your child ?observed? might sound a little strange or even daunting, however the observations are incredibly informal and are really just to help me understand how personality develops in normal, happy children. If you think you might be at all interested in taking part or have any questions, please get in touch. If necessary, I can also provide references, a letter from my Uni and recent CRB form. I am also more than happy to meet with you and talk things over before expecting you to commit. Thanks for reading this and hope to hear from you. Anna A little bit more about me: My name is Anna, I?m 25 and grew up in Dulwich. I have a BSc in Psychology and hope to train as a Child psychotherapist once I have finished my masters. I have lots of experience working with children and currently work in a special needs school for children with autism, as well as working as an Assistant Psychotherapist in a primary school for one day a week. I am also in the middle of a 2 year observation (very similar to this one) of a little boy from 0-2 years old. He is just about to turn 1 and I first made contact with his mother over the EDF when she was 8 months pregnant. Everything is going so well with that observation that I thought I would try my luck here again!
  3. Sorry, I should add that it is posted in the family classified section. Anna
  4. Dear All, I really don't want to spam your forum but I'm trying to track down Mums-to-be due in the next few month and you all seem to be here... I would be so grateful if you could read my post 'Mums-to-be please read' All the best, Anna
  5. Dear Mums-to-be, I am currently completing a Masters degree with the Tavistock and Portman Foundation Trust in 'Psychoanalytic Observational Studies'. A part of my course involves observing a mother and her baby interact, with the aim of learning, first hand, about Child Development. I am looking for a Mum-to-be that is due in the next 2 months that would be happy for me to observe her interact with her baby for 1 hour a week. The observations would last for just under 2 years, finishing just before your baby's 2nd birthday . The observations will be fairly informal and I sincerely believe that they will be a very positive experience for you! If you are even considering taking part please please get in contact, I'd be more than happy to answer any questions that you had / meet with you before you made any commitment. Similarly, If you stumbled upon this and know anyone that fits the criteria that lives in London I would be very grateful if you would forward this to them. I hope to hear from you soon, Many Thanks, Anna Riddiford Email: [email protected] Mobile: 0751 543 5911 A little about me: I am 24 years old and grew up around Dulwich. I have always been very passionate about working with children - something that lead me to study Psychology at University. After completing my BSc undergraduate degree in 2009, I have spent 2 years gaining enough experience working with children to be accepted onto a Masters course in ?Psychoanalytic Observational Studies? which will hopefully lead to a place on a clinical training course to become a Child Psychotherapist - A very long road! I am a friendly and relaxed person and would try hard to make this experience as relaxed and hassle free as possible for you.
