We live On pellatt Road. Had no idea About sewer. Applied for side return and kitchen extension and got full approval but pulled out last minute for other reasons. Architects and builders had no concerns. No mention of problem with sewer. No issues with sewage water or surface leaks or subsidence either. Hope that helps, feel free to contact me if you need more info.

Bus diversions, ambulances, and plenty of police... Seems pretty serious - anyone know what's happening?

Landrover owners beware (car broken into)
MM22 replied to AJenk1's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Thanks for the heads up. A couple of weeks back, a group of the same description (3 men/ 2 scooters) attempted to steal my husbands' motorbike in the middle of the night (they had no chance as it was triple locked, but they did manage to do some damage trying to get one lock off - not the cleverest bunch!). Anyway, he heard them and managed to scare them off. Steering lock is a good tip - will look into it. -
... with kids aged 2,4,6,12,& 14? The two teenage kids are coming to visit London and would clearly like to do some fun stuff (we have arranged for them to see a show and a football match), but we would still like to do some things including our younger children. Any recommendations of how to keep everyone happy? Or good places for lunch? Many thanks!

Not sure when or where - just discovered it missing when emptying car boot where it is usually kept! It has no real identifying features (stupid I know) hence I appreciate this is REALLY long shot! But if you have found one in the last few days/weeks, could you please let me know. I can send you a picture of my child on it as proof of scooter ownership!! http://www.micro-scooters.co.uk/maxi-micro-t-bar-scooter-orange-1.html?utm_source=google_shopping&gclid=CMX1jJSPjcgCFQfgGwod2nsA2g Thanks!

Thanks for your tips everyone. I think we may hold off the building work until spring next year. No real need to rush, and the thought of going through all this in freezing temperatures is just too much to bear! Furthermore the summer holiday could bring some relief as mentioned in your posts! I think we'll just try to go for it, but have a plan B in mind in case it becomes unbearable. So thank you for your input!

Hello, We are looking to do rather extensive renovations (side extension/ garden / loft conversion...) to our house starting in September /October. The work should take roughly 6 months. To save costs we are looking to stay living in the home (family with 3 young children). They will put a temporary kitchen in the living room and we have enough rooms where we could sleep. Is this a terrible idea? Does anyone have any experience / suggestions regarding living in what is essentially a building site ( especially with kids)? Also - does anyone know of any good last minute short term lets we could use in case living here becomes unbearable? Air BnB was an idea, but still rather expensive. Your input would be most appreciate! Many thanks

My son is turning 4 and we would like to take him to a swimming pool (preferably with slides and waves) for his birthday. He has a 5 1/2 year old sister and a 2 year old brother. We are struggling to find a pool where my husband and I can take them (most pools require 1 adult per child at this age) any suggestions? Thank you !!

Hi everyone, There have been a few threads on Blossoms so sorry for starting a new one! However, I would like to let you know that some spaces have come available for the next term starting in september for a 3 year old child. My son and a friend of his are sadly leaving blossoms after this term to join their siblings in a local school. They have both been at Blossoms for the last year and a half and we really couldn't be any happier. The staff are very kind, the school is very warm and welcoming, the activities are well thought out, and they have both really enjoyed their time there. If you are interested in sending your child there please contact Julie at: julie_tomo@hotmail.com, or call her on 07801947404. Many thanks.

The same happened to us on pellat road a few weeks back! Phil and teds double buggy stolen out of boot. No sign of forced entry although I am sure the car was locked - how low must one go to steal a child's buggy?!

Put in "baby white noise" on you tube and leave phone/computer/iPad in baby's room. There are also a few free apps. i always liked those that replicate the sound within the womb. A lot cheaper than buying a "specialty" product and just as effective. I used it for baby number 3 to block out noise of 1 & 2 and help with sleep association. Found it helpful. Good luck!

It's been 2 years since Matt and his team did the work on our home and he still comes regularly for odd jobs. Recently he has identified & dealt with 3 damp patches and done the re-painting free of charge. We are very glad we found him 2 years ago and I would still highly recommend him for any painting/decorating work.

Lost/stollen scooter today @ dulwich park
MM22 replied to MM22's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Thank you so much for the kind offer! We actually went back to the cafe a week later and someone had returned it. Was very pleased that it was clearly just a misunderstanding. :-) Thanks again. -
We left my daughters scooter unattended in front of the the dulwich park cafe today around 1pm and when we returned it was gone. It is a mini micro scooter with a neon orange board and pink/ blue handles. It looks like the attached butthe handles in particular are rather worn. http://www.micro-scooters.co.uk/scooters-model-mini-micro-ages-3-5/mini-micro-scooter-neon-orange-limited-edition-1.html I am hoping someone took it by accident as there are so many of these around - if this is the case please could you get in touch?! Many thanks

Hi ladies, congratulations on the new babies! Unfortunately as my daughter is back at nursery this week I won't be able to make any of the planned meet ups at 11 (her half day sessions end at 12 and I need to go pick her up :-( As I have another 2 year old boy I am happy to meet up any other parents with toddlers at the play groups - either Peckham one o'clock club or tumble - is anyone planning on attending either today? X Pauline -

Supposed to be a rather nice day tomorrow so perhaps a meet up at the Dulwich park cafe is an idea! That way everyone who would like to join can join. I will be bringing a 2 year old and a 3 1/2 year old (oh joy!). Can I suggest 10am or is that too early? X -

Yup - we go to Tumble at the Albrighton centre now and again and it would def work for us. However not so sure it is a great meet up for those without a toddler to bring along (seems a bit of a shame to pay ?2 and make no use of the facilities - also no coffee on offer!) I just phoned up and they are open during half-term, anyone up for meeting this coming Tuesday?? http://www.albrightoncommunitycentre.org/activities/under-5s-activities/ -

Agreed! Regular meet up (toddler friendly!) would be great! Hope you are all coping with the final hurdle - a bit of sunshine would be welcome however! X
