Hi all, Another gleaming review for Vince. He responded quickly to texts and arrived promptly on the day. We had a rather heavy mirror cabinet which had to be installed and he and his colleague Stanley did a great job of positioning it as requested and also cutting a hole in the back of the cabinet to allow for the shaving socket. I found out he also lays floors so will be calling him again soon.

Anyone know why Bambini hasn't reopened yet? Seems a bit strange that they have not had either the old premises or the new one on 26 Nunhead Green not open yet. On another note, I went past Napura and noticed that it has been redecorated for the better. Is it under new ownership?

Another recommendation for Darren. He and his colleague Steve did a great job tiling 2 bathrooms for us. Reliable, punctual and friendly too.

Recommending Plumber - Hunter Heating Solutions
ranawumps replied to HunterHtingSolutions's topic in Reviews
Ahead of carrying out a loft conversion, we had some concern that our existing water pressure would not cope with the additional bathrooms we were having made. After reading reviews about Billy Hunter on edf I called him and he took his time to give me some good advice on how to improve water pressure. We decided to pick Billy for the job. He installed an unvented cylinder for us and upgraded our pipework. I also agree with other reviewers that he went over and above expectations by pointing out and fixing other plumbing issues unrelated to the task at hand. (For us, it was that the boiler flue installed was not positioned to regulation distance). We were really happy with the job Billy did and wouldn't hesitate to seek out his services again. -
sash window maker/fitter needed
ranawumps replied to amandajwoodward's topic in Request a Tradesperson
I just had F&E joinery install 4 new double glazed sashes for my Victorian property. I got burned a couple of years ago by some window fitters I found on MyBuilder who, while were the most price competitive, did not do the best installation. F&E joinery were a pleasure to work with. They were easy to reach by email and once I placed the order, they were able to deliver the windows within 4 weeks which suited my tight time scales. They only spent 2 1/2 days on site and were very tidy at home. The windows look great and the installations ran seamlessly. My only minor qualm is that I thought their quote for painting the woodwork prior to installation was too high, therefore I decided to use a local painter to do the paint work post installation instead. -
Recommendation for floor sanding - Back to Wood
ranawumps replied to Clare C's topic in Request a Tradesperson
Another recommendation for Steve and Nicola from Back To Wood. I called them up and didn't expect them to be able to take the work on (sanding and staining my spare room) as it sounded like they are generally booked months in advance. Luckily they happened to have a last minute cancellation so were able to come by and finished off the job within a day. Very impressed with the floors and the fact that they made minimal mess. Just a shame they don't also lay new floors as I need someone to do that as well. -
Cool thanks. Looks like you're talking about the Doni car hand wash at 49 herne hill. Any idea if it's open on Sundays?

Can anyone recommend any car wash services (or ones to avoid) around SE15 or SE22? I need both the interior and exterior cleaned.

Unfortunately I also have to have a moan about John Powers. - he called a few days before the job start date saying that he might have to revise the quote due to the price of copper increasing - He was late several times - damaged some floor tiles when moving radiators but did not admit to causing the damage. - Did not carry out most of the work but used his apprentice to do so - did not carry out pipe insulation in cellar competently
