Buddha heads and bamboo. Blimey.

Agree with Jeremy but I suppose that, as long as you didn't need to move earlier in the year, nothing is lost and you had the chance of someone buying at the inflated price. Why not put it on in the residential section of the forum? If you just put a description, you might even find a buyer and avoid commission!

Always ask agents for specific comparables to back up the estimates they are offering you. Also ask them how much they would put it on at if you needed to sell ina month. You get a much more realisitic assessment. Sorry you are having all this unnecessary stress, unnecessary as the agents should have been more realistic.

Bessemer Grange - Turning away nannies

Very decent note from the centre manager. The nanny has a choice. She has to admit she needs support OR she can play with your child and invent games and tricks to learn and have fun. -
Policies on lunch supervision for reception children
dulwichgirl2 replied to susyp's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Sorry but the teachers need to supervise the children and you need to check politely what's happened here and whether there were a teacher in the background etc. if not, complain immediately as that is absolutely unacceptable, even before you get into the "getting lost on the way back" aspect. I know many teachers and none would leave a child like this so I find it all quite extraordinary. Speak to the school head if necessary. -
Interesting, love markets!

I just "did" Gambados for the first time...
dulwichgirl2 replied to Otta's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Gambado. Yes good fun. You have to go around with them until you are prepared to see them knocked over without getting upset. Do they still have a baby area, in response to midivydale? -
Why did the rules change? Did new studies emerge that it was dangerous in the lower age group? Presumably not if forumites still give it. Plug in Karvol used to be useful in the winters for us. Also, not pushing it when they start to come down with something. Suspend Tv rules and let them watch For hours snuggled up with warm milk, and ready to sleep poor little lambs...

Be polite to everyone, difficult though it is. Especially policemen at no. 10

Mrben, if you don't mind my asking, how much do you take as a deposit and do you set up a special stakeholder account to hold it in? If so, how? In a normal bank? Thank you.

What hours constitute a typical cm day, please?

El pibe, I often end up doing that, ironically with more close relatives and friends ie those for whom I spend ages looking and rejecting lots of things till after the event on the grounds that the present isnt nice enough. They end up with something ok but two years late!

Talking of which am I right in thinking there has been an explosion in "body art" or tattoos in women? Everyone I met seems to have one, some very tasteful, others less so.

Furniture (preferably good value of course)

Fab ideas! Thank you so much. Pretty sure will go for "maisonsdumonde", thank you. El pibe, noted for another time, thanks. -
Bessemer Grange - Turning away nannies
dulwichgirl2 replied to espolea's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Zeban, nicely put. It is indeed about prioritising resources though it is a rather clumsy and arbitrary line to draw. Lif chances are set depressingly early, especially in london. I don't grudge the non nanny children access to one of these centres. (is it childminders too? A lot of people like to call themselves nannies owing to perceived status and pay, when they are, emphatically, not. -
Actually this is so much more interesting than my original thread. Here is another example - crazy mountaineers. A lot of nasty frostbite and broken legs. I would do Botox first personally. ;-)

CS, I think Saffron's point, with which I agree, is that it is difficult if the NHS starts attributing "blame" to the appearance of or extent of certain conditions. Either the nHS treats everyone who turns up (ie regardless of contributory negligence) or it doesn't. Yor own first post actually made the same point when one of your arguments was that treating voluntarily created Botox problems is stretching the NHS which already has enough to do dealing with the diseases caused or exacerbated by other voluntary behaviour patterns such as smoking or drinking.

Thank you for these ideas! Will investigate tomo. Am I the only one shocked by these prices? -
I have spent a frustrating few hours recently searching for reasonably stylish but affordable furniture. Goodness there isn't much. For example, bedroom chairs. Nothing armchair-like to be had for under 500 pounds. Can anyone advise better on where I should be looking? Or have I just lost track of prices and this is the way it is? Thank you
-
All very inertesting, thank you. I love your ten minute advice booth next to the botox, Saffron. I wonder if "ageism" will flip and the elderly regain their historically important roles in society. At which point, we will be painting on wrinkles!

Midivydale, in my view you have nothing to defend! I completely understand why you had it done and why you don't want to going forward. I'm confused by myself though - maybe it is the child thing as well and becoming less risk averse. I just don't understand why I am open to all sorts of "intervention" (including teeth fixing) but not injecting this stuff. I wonder if it will become mainstream and done by Boots for ten quid at lunchtime?!

Do Roy Brooks Estate Agents tend to overvalue properties?
dulwichgirl2 replied to Clazza's topic in The Lounge
So... Did you check the comparables and were they reasonable? (I cannot resist property threads as everyone knows...) -
Interesting thread on another board of the forum. Would you attend a Botox party in ED with a dr doing the injections? I wldnt do Botox anyway but the idea of the party doesn't bother me and probably makes the health side of it less worrying to me. Here is my query - I use a bit of make up most days, have a warm tint in my hair and use fake tan (from time to time, not the constant orange look!). I really don't fancy Botox but cannot rationalise why not. What are your views about it, especially If you use other "aids" like makeup etc.?
