However you were approaching the closed off area, across traffic, the area to the Dulwich Village side of the blocks is not driven on and you and your children could have waited there and shouted 'please move'. I know the junction well and there is no way you couldn't have done that.

But each to their own. As long as the people who post pro stuff on here, and who live in Court Lane, Calton Avenue, Melbourne Grove and Derwent Grove, keep posting about their children and the danger they face, no one will give them the time of day in our community. They do not care about East Dulwich Grove or Croxted Road, as long as they can quickly steer off in to the idylls of traffic free roads whilst taking their children to school. Sorry it is inequitable.

Look we are not going to agree on the demo. I do agree the elderly participants should have been off the two roads that cyclists use. What I think is laughable is the idea this was all blocked by people, and if you can't steer through then it is a shame. And as for the car horns, I think when I was watching the drivers, plus P4 driver and an ambulance driver, they were responding to the placards they were reading and no one was there doing anything other than waving at pippers.

Heartblock, northernmonkey is basically saying you are lying, I hope you realise that.

Ah sweet.

Following the 'war' on the many twitter accounts going for it on both sides. And Dulwich people are supposed to be so nice............

Don't you live on one of the roads that will be clogged with dropping off parents?

We are all talking on part knowledge. The sad fact is that all our experiences and opinions are based on what we read in this part disclosure, what we gleaned from people who went to different meetings, and yes, anecdotes. I read tweets that say the traffic is awful at such and such place, then immediately someone says no it wasn't when I was there. legalalien is right, Southwark will have to disclose all the material they have not released as promised. Meanwhile, the great noise of banging about in Calton Avenue has begun, no traffic management plan in effect and living where I live can hear all the work starting up. No free passage for the lorries to go through on the original route because the junction is closed. DulwichCentral, what is going to happen next to our once lovely area?

No one has any data. or proof of anything, however when the cyclist went through the lights on green for pedestrians, fortunately I was with someone else who saw the blatant disregard for law.

He tutted at me then proceeded through the red light which was on green for pedestrians, and rode in to Calton Ave/Court Lane.

We need more public transport. It is simple. instead of TfL fiddling about on roads for cyclists now that they have done their worst could they please turn their attention to area-linking buses and to car sharing journeys, more school buses and get the trains back to normal.

johnhinton Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > So many souls being dragged away by big lorries; > no wonder my heart sinks when I see them. How awful. I make a typo and you make fun but do you know what? Living with extra construction traffic every day wherever it ends up going - even up my road, will be soul-destroying.
-
Thank you Glemham for that bit of news. So that means big lorries taking soul out and delivering construction materials, what a great Winter we can all look forward to. And will they be allowed to "go through the cameras" or are they to be restricted to five hours a day, as construction cannot be pre-8am or after 5.30pm. Has anyone heard from any official about how these lorries ware going to get to the building site?

Another Southwark Council debacle where they claim they asked for local opinion, didn't hear anything so went ahead. A friend of mine sent me the film of the trees being cut down. Heartbreaking. It is a load of tosh that they are building there.

Even if councillors have spoken to businesses it doesn't mean that the quality of the exchange is any use at all. I doubt it was. By the way. Be prepared for the great "we are not going to change anything except for allowing emergency vehicles through the closed junction" announcement.
-
I saw the turn out for the closed junction. A couple of dozen people sitting defiantly in the drizzle. I am wondering when the council will re-open them junction for at least emergency vehicles. They are not very Healthy Streets if you are waiting for an ambulance.
-
So what do we all think about no data from the Southwark Consultation? Do you think there is an element of "cooking the books" going on?

northernmonkey Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > There is a separate thread on the nursery, but > this conversation spans from tht tip out small > kids and drive off, drop off takes a while. Exactly. But this thread is about the roads and they are already too full thanks to ED closures.

All those pro LTNers in Melbourne, Derwent and Elsie have to learn to share if this is the case. Please don't suggest nursery users will not use their cars.
