  1. Count me in too please! I have a 19 month old daughter Grace. Looking forward to it!
  2. Brilliant! Trying to think what the best one is but there are too many!
  3. Thanks a lot for this. My partner is on his way now! Its not good when even NHS Direct can't help you!
  4. HELP! I'm looking for a chemist open on Sunday nights in South London???? Googled so many sites but can't find any, even NHS can't find any when I spoke to them. 13 month old daughter has had a bad reaction to her MMR jab and I need some anti-histamines.
  5. Blueberry pancakes went down a treat this morning and actually all day. So nice to taste lovely warm fresh ones and the little one loves feeding herself with her yoghurt so thanks again everyone. Roll on Saturday for eggy bread!!
  6. How could I forget about delicious pancakes?! Thats definitely on the menu for tomorrow, if I don't eat them before they hit the plate! I know porridge and fruit is the best option but I just want as much variety in her meals as possible so thanks a lot for all the suggestions.
  7. My daughter is 13 months and has been living on mainly porridge with different fruits for breakfast, or banana with toast. I've tried her with Weetabix and Ready Brek but she hates it. Any other ideas of what I can give her?
  8. I agree with Canela and Saffron. Every baby is different so please don't try to stick to a routine. I stupidly beat myself up in the early days when my baby wasn't following the routine but then realised babies are just like adults, some days we are hungrier and more tired than others. Go with your instinct and it will create a nicer environment for you and your lovely baby.
  9. Hi thanks for your message That sounds like what I'm trying to do but she gets hysterical when I leave the room! Did your LO always stand up because baby M is on all fours ready to crawl so I've been putting her back into a sleeping position but should I just leave her be and stroke her hair (she loves that)? I'm not sure whether me picking her up and putting her back into a comfortable sleeping position is giving her false hope!
  10. I apologise if this has been around the block a million times but I much prefer advice from you guys rather than the stupid manuals. My 1 year old, baby M, used to be a fantastic sleeper 11/12 hours a night up until she was 7 months and has gradually got worse. She used to wake at around 5/530am so I would give her the morning bottle then lie in bed with her until 7am. She's obviously got very cosy with this so started waking at 4am, then 3am, then 2am and now won't even last 2 hours in her bed when she goes down in the evening. I'm trying to be strong and comfort her without picking her up but she is becoming so stressed out. Between 1-5am every night for the past 2 weeks she has screamed to get out of bed and play, she's not taking the hint! I just wanted to know about anyone's past experience? Am I doing the right thing letting her scream then when it gets really bad, put her back in the sleeping position, comfort her then walk out the room? I'm on the verge of giving up and sleeping in her room just for peace but I'm determined not to so any advice would be amazing right now!
  11. I've just signed up with New Beginnings childminders on Lordship Lane across from Dulwich Park. They have only just started in the last few months so am sure they have vacancies. Really lovely mother and daughter set-up.
  12. Thanks everyone. Through this thread I've found a very sweet Spanish au pair and me and the b/f are going out next week for dinner. Woohoo!! :)
  13. I didn't know they had one there, I just looked at Dulwich and Camberwell. I'll check it out today, thanks for that!
  14. Just wondering about everyone's situation in this thread. My partner and I don't have any friends or family in the area so have no-one to rely on for a couple of hours babysitting every now and then. I feel such a terrible parent thinking about leaving my 11 month old with a babysitter, but is it ok? Am I being silly? It would be so nice for us to go out even for a bike ride for an hour or so!
  15. Thank you everyone! I'm gonna book a course at the Herne Hill location as its so close.
  16. I've tried Aquatots, London Swim School and Water Babies, all booked up. Anyone know of other classes in South London? My daughter is 11 months.
  17. I've had the same problem and my baby is now 10 months old. Can't offer much advice but I feel your pain! Sometimes she wants cuddles, sometimes food. I hold out as much as possible before I give her a bottle, like you I don't want to create a bad habit. I think its cruel to deprive them of food but its also cruel to deprive us of our sleep! Apparently its very common and doesn't last long once they become more active. Good luck!
  18. I have a 10 month old and I never know from one day to the next when she is ready for a nap! She's at nursery 2 days a week and most of the time when I pick her up, they tell me she's only slept for 30mins the whole day which is so weird because when she's at home with me, she will do what your little one is doing, have a few little naps. Maybe I'm boring company for her lol! I know what you mean, its a struggle if they are a bit whingey because they are tired but I think the other people are right in saying that when she gets more mobile she will settle into a better routine. Thats what I'm keeping my fingers crossed for! Good luck.
  19. Baby sensory classes are great! I've been going for a while and we both love it. Everyone is really friendly too. Can give you the contact's email address if you would like it?
  20. I second The Victoria Inn and as was previously said, they have a great play room for toddlers but it does get very very busy so be sure to book.
  21. Great thread! My partner and I have been thinking about this for a while. I'll check out the Clapham one. Cheers!
  22. Does anyone have a link for Piplings? Can't find it on the internet?
  23. Cherry Tree is an official Montessori nursery. My daughter is there at the moment and I'm still sussing everyone and everything out there. They all seem to be very nice and I like that its small and most importantly my 7 month old daughter seems happy there, but just wondered if anyone had a good or bad experience there.
  24. Morning! Does anyone have any feedback on this nursery? Positive, negative, whatever would be greatly appreciated!
  25. Hi there Welcome to the world of weaning! I have a 7 month old who has been eating solids for just over a month and seems to be going well. Like Nabz said, you will know when the time is right. Suddenly they have a "what do you think you're doing?" when you're eating your food which obviously means they are curious and want some! The tips I can give you is, always make sure they have their milk first, that was a mistake I made in the beginning. baby rice is best to start off with then you can gradually add fruit purees to them. I highly recommend the River Cottage baby and toddler cookbook as it gradually builds up into kids eating what adults eat. Lots of good advice in the foreword also. Good luck!
