  3. I feel sorry for both of them but Amy has some serious musical talent. her voice is amazing. whereas Britney can dance, can sing a bit, gets well produced, looked nice in a school uniform.

  10. people are people - depeche mode
  11. DM was at a disneyland wasnt she. and let me just say I agree with your post DM. but it's not the greatest test environment for this theory is it? I think that this 'general point' is just personal opinion. which is fine. but lets not try and extrapolate any principles about pan-european behaviour just yet eh? it sounds to me like someone's just looking for another stick to beat these terrible Ed parents and their screaming pub going progeny.
  12. I dont understand that last post. I'm fairly sure its another dig at children who dare to make noise and run around and other outrageous things. Is it?
  13. Brendan that is genuis.
  14. I agree with you Asset. You must approach them first. If you still feel like you have to call social services then go ahead. If you are trying to foster any sense of community at all then better to be in the position of someone who is concerned and at least has the decency to speak face to face to their neightbour. If you get the social services coming around due to an anonymous call you are going to spend your whole time paranoid and stressed, on top of your crying children and crippling mortgage you now have to worry that all your neighbours have decided you are somehow abusive.
  15. For no one - The Beatles
  16. Teenage mothers are everywhere now
  17. I used to love those Silk Cut ads too. sort of like dingbats, there was always some little thing you had to work out. suggesting that smoking was kind of cryptic, elegant and cool. (I too took up smoking, but am off the weed these days)
  18. See Emily play - Pink Floyd
  19. I agree with Kel, especially "Many avoid the options available by ignoring the "problem" and by the time theyve plucked up the courage to talk to anyone about it it's too late." 1n 1 case i know very well she did the test, told friends, sisters, but not parents. Basically by the time she was talking to her parents she had already discussed it at length with friends and decided to keep it. so really whatever the parents said she just wasnt taking it in. friends and sisters of same age really dont have any idea that 'having a baby' means 'having a child and spending the next 20 years putting their needs first' as a teenager it's very difficult to visualise the future. teenagers live in the moment, and whatever you teach them about sex, which I don't think we do adequately, they also have to try and understand responsibility, and action= consequence. some people never understand that properly though!
  20. With or without you- U2
  21. CitizenED you are so right. the working class/middle class divide is indeed a red herring, but the more emphasis we give to it, the more it grinds us down.
  22. Kiss - Prince
  23. i got caught in the most horrid rain
  24. beat it = Michael Jackson
  25. Three is a difficult age. You can get a lot of screaming tantrums, which are sometimes best ignored. Once they realise the tantrums dont work they stop (eventually). My 2 and a half year old will lie on the floor screaming 'its not fair' because she was given a blue spoon not a pink one at breakfast. Also the worst behaviour always seems to be at home. for other people she is mostly angelic. But it's at home that the boundaries exist so that's where the fights are. I would imagine 3 year old twins spend a lot of time considering the world to be unfair and expressing this to their parents!
